About this listen

The complete series in a single offering!

Dark forces pull Dan into a world he never imagined was real.

Left stranded and alone, he quickly realizes that this unexpected journey comes with a twist. The power of the leylines flows through his body, giving him power unlike any in the world can wield.

As he sets out to find the answers of how he came to be in this world, he comes to the aid of a beautiful stranger who becomes his guide—and perhaps more—in this strange place.

Will he find answers, or will the evil befouling the land find him first?

I didn't dislike the story. But I thought the world was too compressed a bit. Part of me thought that they'd somehow gain a Drusza girlfriend too.

Someone who basically broke off from the Doomsday Cult under Zendar and was likely another amateurish, but albeit skilled Ley Technician and/or Craftswoman (like between a novice in computers mixed with a medieval artisan). And no less of a warrior with the usual bad temper known to emher culture. But her attitude might've also tempered because she has a passion for engineering. Kinda like Belanna Torres from Star Trek DS9 who was a human and klingon mixed child, or like Worf from Star Trek TNG who was no less of a Klingon warrior (in fact one of the Greatest). For the hypothetical Drusza woman for personality similarities.

I also felt like there would've been a bit more for Xian to do even as a minor noble like if there was something to do, possibly in the realm of logistics or something. And I really appreciated the part where she and Dannick made spaghetti, found that otherworldly cola soda 🥤, and made love for the first time. However I also feel like that should've happened earlier in the progression. It makes sense if she was pampered even as a more minor noble. But those are usually the Best ones because they're more down to earth than the mid and higher levels ones based on Eurasian history references 🤔.

I appreciated Dannick being The Guy and all too however I feel like he really should've been able to show some of his Construction and contracting skills more often. (Not throughout the series in Everything. But more than maybe once or twice. Like getting kinky with Vera and putting together that teleportation beacon).

Vera was awesome although I also kinda wish she had more skills than combat most of the time, and some hunting. Like maybe she could've been a better cook, trying to emulate some of the dishes from the village diner.

And Belmora was Great too but it would've been nice to see her become something like a gunner or archer from Monster Hunter using a ranged weapon of some sort of using something like traps and bombs like a DnD Artificer type. Not that I wanted her to be in combat. Just that if it came down to her or the bad guys, that she'd be less hesitant to hurt the bad guys too.

Not at all bad but I thought there'd be More to the world/setting

This was something special, book 1 really kicked it off and by book 2, I was fully hooked. Such a great story.

A great magic story!
