About this listen

Megastar Tam Eyre has no idea what to do with the crumpled note thrown at his head: "If you don't love me, we both die."

Bubble-tea-obsessed college girl Lakelynn Frost has 365 days to make the world's most famous pop star fall in love with her. If she can't do it, an old family curse will kill them both.

It might be a problem since she can't get tickets to any of his sold-out concerts.

Should Lake chase after him with only her grumbly brother Joules for company? Check items off her bucket list like Uncle Jack? Plan her own funeral like Aunt Clara?

But Lake's a fighter. And this curse? It comes with magical meet-cutes.

Please note this is Part Two of If You Don't Love Me We Both Die, an MF contemporary romance with a sprinkle of magic. Expect sexy, swoony tension, slow-burn spice, strong secondary couple/side character romance, characters in their twenties, and sunshine in a cup. It is a standalone told from first-person dual POV. Narrated in duet style.

Wonderful and unique story. C.M. you are an amazing author

I always think it’s amazing how a story can just grab you in and make you feel like you’re living the life you’re reading about. This story did exactly that. This was such a unique story that I really loved.
Fantastic duet narration! The voice actors did a wonderful job with each of the character’s voices and personalities.

Wow

I’ve never left a review so here goes. I haven’t cried reading a book in a very long time but this one did it. These 2 books made me laugh, cry and think. I love CM Stunich’s books so much that I automatically pre order her books whenever they are available. Then I have to buy the audio because it really adds to the experience of reading them. The narrators were amazing!
The story was so good and really kept me engaged with the characters. I have to say I REALLY LOVE JOE! I wish it could have been a series with the the cousins but it’s nice to imagine their stories.

Book 2 (so good)

The second half starts with a bang since Tam's face was basically between Lake's thighs when book 1 ended. But things quickly became frustrating again. I think the major issue that plagues this book is "what is love?" We’re told that only mutual love will break the curse. So the number of times we had to hear that the H/h weren't in love (when they DEFINITELY were) was destroying. We needed the author to write her definition of love as a foreword or something. Because clearly the generally held belief is insane. IMO the moment Lake decided Tam was worth pursuing she was in love, even before they met. And once Tam acknowledged he was curious about her and that she could be important to him, he was too. Love is a constant force. It's through conscious awareness of another that a stronger tether is created between two people. Love is not all of the things we cling to, like: knowing a bunch of stats about someone, or going on dinner dates, or doing them favours. Those are about building a life and cooperation. Love is as easy as breathing. So needless to say:

I was bouta snap.

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

And the curse 🤬. While it gives this story its gravity and makes the romance so important, it also and ruins the hell out of it. The H/h already had the weight of the world (the eyes of the world!) on their secret relationship, by 5 hrs in I was begging Stunich to cut us some damn slack. Let our hearts stay at resting rate for a while. LET US BE HAPPY. I was stressed. Low grade stress, but still stressed. Wondering what would happen. Every chapter is a boba countdown to doom. And then the side character romance began 🙄. And Joules’ unforgivable lie came to light. IT WAS TOO MUCH. I mean, I liked Joules but idgaf about him playing hide the eggplant with Kaycee. His relationship with her is the reason we created divorce. Extremely superficial. I just wanted to put aside those distractions, and for Lake get her head out of her ass about Tam (because yes, it becomes clear that SHE is the problem). I just wanted them to break the goddamn curse!

But seriously, be prepared. Because death looms so heavy in the last 5 hours of this book, that the bittersweetness of it all will tear you open. If you’re grieving it might be too much. But Lake’s final awareness that, even with all the hardship, maybe it was never a curse at all was 🤌. Beautiful story. Truly beautiful.

Amazing narration

Loved the conclusion to the story. All of the characters were well developed and fun to follow. Both narrators were excellent at creating different voices for the characters. When a character began to speak, especially the males, I knew instantly who they were. I’ve not listened to an audiobook with Keong Sim as a narrator. I’ve only ever known him as an actor. Now, I feel like we need more books voiced by him right now. His choice of voices for the characters dropped me right into the scenes. I could feel their emotions and picture their expressions. I want more, more, more! I would love it if he voiced more books, especially if they were by C.M. Stunich. Vivienne Kells was a great narrator for the female characters as well. I loved this pairing. Also, the duet narration style is my favorite. Loved how these two played off one another. A perfect pairing for an amazing book.
