About this listen

Tommaso

The furniture district is my personal hell. I don’t know my ass from an ottoman. But when a hot designer comes to my rescue, I realize my problems are bigger than the house I’m trying to furnish.

A scorching kiss over fabric samples makes me question all my choices. But is it too late to change my entire life to get more of them?

Carter

I need this gig, but my cocky new client leaves out a couple crucial details: He doesn’t mention that he's a famous hockey player. And he doesn’t own up to the way he’s always trying to undress me with his dark, broody eyes.

The man throws out more mixed signals than a broken traffic light. I've never been more sexually frustrated in my entire life. I need to back away before I do something stupid, like lose my heart.

Oops. Too late.

Loved the storyline, the characters and the trifecta of Sarina Bowen, Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan. Pure magic!

Another winner!

4.25 Stars 🌟

It has been a while since I've been back in Ms. Bowen's hockey world and man oh man did it make me realize how much I loved the world she has created. This particular series has us leaving the Brooklyn Bruisers and is instead based in Colorado. The hockey team for this book is the Colorado Cougars and we get the pleasure of meeting Tommaso DiCosta and Carter Flynn.

Tommaso is the hockey player just coming out of a disastrous marriage. He also has a bunch of baggage and a not so great reputation in the league. Carter Flynn is an interior designer who is fighting to save his business. He is in the middle of losing his boyfriend and business partner, his apartment, and possibly his business.....not a great time in his life.

I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with Carter. He is TRULY a great guy. He is kind, funny, humble and really, really funny. He is - of course - an amazing designer who thinks in terms of design and color. Tommaso is the exact opposite. His life outside of hockey is bare bones with everything being just the basics. He lived in a corporate apartment where everything was already furnished and when he realizes that his mother is coming to stay with him in the new house he just bought, he also realizes that he has absolutely no furniture in the house (with the exception of a bean bag, tv and a mattress on the floor). When he attempts to go to a furniture store, he meets the worst furniture salesperson EVER and just happens to run into a guy that might be able to help him. And we get the meet-cute.

I really enjoyed this story. As usual, I listened to most of this on audio and the narrators were the Audible royalty of Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan, so of course they did a fantastic job.

This book was less of the "team" dynamics with the hocky team that we have seen in the previous books. Yes, we do get to see some of the other members of the team, but it is more focused on Tommaso's life and especially Carter's perspective of furnishing the house...and of course, the developing friendship between the two of them.

This is another wonderful addition to this spin off series and a definite winner. I think I have a feeling on who might be the next player up to bat...we'll have to just wait and see.

My guys!

Another smash by Sarina Bowen! As always you cannot pick a better duo to bring a m/m romance to life then Teddy and Jacob. Both brought life into these characters. 5/5

Very cute!

Loved everything about this book. The characters are relatable. The storyline is believable and draws you in. And the “sexy” parts were great!

Very Cute

Story was a little slow at times but the cuteness made up for it. Narrators were perfect for the characters.

Narrators are perfect

I wouldn’t change a thing. I listened to this story at 1.25x to savor it. Teddy Hamilton’s voice is so warm and inviting, and Jacob Morgan’s cadence is melodic. I wish this book would have lasted forever.

I love this book.

I am a sucker for grumpy guys! It was the right amount of humor and emotion. I listen to this book over and over.

Even better than reading the book

A terrific story with two amazing narrators. I looked forward to getting in my car and getting back into the story.

Hilarious, but where’s the juice?

This book was hilarious! The writing was well done, and the narration did it justice. Do yourself a favor and listen to it! My only complaint is the lack of details during the sexy scenes. The language in the build up and their talk about s*x is great, but as soon they start it’s over and they’re cuddling in bed. Like excuse me where’s the juice? A little disappointing especially when they talk a good game (but don’t play it). Nonetheless I did enjoy it. I’d give it a 5/5 if they didn’t breeze over love scenes, but since they did I give it like a 4.25/5
