Publisher's summary

Killing the bad guy just got a whole lot harder.

Eddie and Julianna are perplexed when a major thief strikes a security corporation. They track down the thieves at a top-secret Federation facility. What they learn only creates more problems.

They’re dealing with shapeshifters.

The Saverus race was thought to be a myth. It turns out they’ve only been hiding, taking on the identity of others. Biding their time. Now they’re trying to steal a device that could tear the entire galaxy apart.

They must be stopped.

But how does Ghost Squadron stop a bad guy who can look like anyone? The team races to obtain the deadly device before the Saverus. What they find on their search is a convoluted maze of strange technology that most don’t know exists.

Nothing is what it seems anymore.

Experience this exciting military sci-fi saga and the latest addition to the expanded Kurtherian Gambit Universe. If you’re a fan of Mass Effect, Firefly, or Star Wars, you’ll love this riveting space opera.

NOTE: If cursing is a problem, then this might not be for you.

So well-written and entertaining

My fifth read from the collaborative efforts of authors Sarah Noffke & Michael Anderle. With every subsequent book, the series gets more exciting & enjoyable. Narrator Chris Abernathy again adds greatly to the book’s enjoyment. I look forward to Ghost Squadron #6.

Can you tell the difference between friend and Foe

Reviewer: Teresa Fallen Angel

Summary:

Eddie and Julianna have a new problem to deal, shape shifting snakes who can take on any ones appearance. Imagine not knowing if you are looking at friend or foe. Add to that Eddie’s irreverent behavior while takes the safety of every member of his crew. Now Julianna on the surface appears to be emotionless and hardhearted, but as the series continues the reader begins to see her change and grow as a person. It makes me as a reader wonder how much of those changes stem back to her evolving relationship with Eddie. He may appear carefree, but his commitment to the safety of his crew and completely their missions is crucial to him. It makes me as a reader wonder if their could be more between them as time goes by. We will have to wait and see. One of their Crew Noah is about to have his life altered as someone in his past returns changing everything for him and others on the team.

The Audio book version brought the characters alive as the narrator added a unique flair to each individual.

Can you really believe what you see?

Another great addition to a wonderfully written and fun series! If you love the campiness of the original Star Trek and/or Doctor Who, you should give these books a try. The characters are totally irreverent and curse a lot, so if that is a problem, stay away! But, if you love snark and sci-fi, this one's for you!

Teach and Juliana and the rest of Ghost Squadron are tasked with finding a group of thieves intent on stealing a device that could tear the galaxy apart. They soon discover that the thieves are probably from the Saverus race, a group of shapeshifting snakes that was thought to be extinct. How can you know who to trust when the Saverus can take on anybody's identity?

This book has some twists involving characters that were introduced in earlier books. I like the fact that the authors continue to add more dimensions to some of the lesser characters. And, there are some new, quirky characters that make an appearance in this book as well.

I especially enjoyed Pip, Juliana's AI, in this book, as he tries to become more human, even suggesting that he take over Juliana's body! The dialogue between Pip and Juliana were great fun, especially as he tries to convince her to go Vegan. Lots of LOL moments between these two!

The book has plenty of action, some cringe worthy aliens (snake-people and rat-people.......EWWWWWWW!), and hints of romance. All of this along with the usual snarkiness and witty dialogue that readers of the series have come to love and expect.

In the author's notes, Sarah Noffke hints at 49 more books in order to satisfy the fans......YEAH! I never get tired of listening to these books and hope that there are many more to come. Always good for great entertainment! The narrator, Chris Abernathy, does his usual wonderful job and adds greatly to the enjoyment this series brings to my life.

Snakes

Seriously, shape changing Snakes? That's very creepy. But a good enemy. Loved the animals being rescued, we foster injured animals. Good first book for the next storyline in the squadron.
But seriously, Ed and Jules just need to admit they love each other.

Never a Disappointment

What I liked best was Sarah's "tongue-in-cheek" alluded inference in her author's note that there might be 49+ books in this series! No matter! I thoroughly enjoy reading (listening to) these books. I may buy the books in print - because I like holding paper in my hands.

A cool space, sci-if adventure

Impersonation starts a cool new story arc in the Ghost Squadron series. These cool books feel inspired by great sci-fi shows like Star Trek and Dr. Who, but they are their own unique creations. Those who have read the previous books will enjoy this one, and those who want to start here should be able to figure things out.

These books contain a fair amount of cussing, so reader discretion is advised.

The narrator of the audiobook is particularly good at bringing out the fun in the books, but his female voices all sound like guys.
