About this listen

Pro quarterback Cade Prescott's last play was to lose the Super Bowl for his team. To escape the bad press and recover from the disastrous season, he changes his appearance and hides away at a sleepy university town.

Andie Wales's first love is researching ancient bad boy kings. She is blissfully unaware of the Super Bowl and modern day bad boys. When her dog meets and mates with Cade's dog, Andie's first concern is to get her dog to a vet. She gets waylaid by Cade and his hunky good looks and has no idea just how out of her league Cade is.

Despite his secrets, Cade feels differently about Andie and thinks he might be falling in love. Unfortunately, his past catches up with him, and he is forced to make a difficult decision. Can a professional athlete and a research librarian truly prove the axiom that opposites not just attract, but were meant for each other?

Cliffhanger. Cade and Andie's story continues in Part Two.

Sweet Football romance

Intercepted by Love is a sweet story about a football player that has gone into hiding. The sexy football player is attempting to just hide out and find himself, but he ends up finding much more than that! With an unexpected run-in in the library, Cade finds someone who doesn't know what he does and like's him for who he is. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger but luckily the entire series is out!

The narration is good, Chris Abell has yet again done a great job!

The Quarterback and the Librarian

Another great story by Rachelle Ayala, but be warned... there's a cliffhanger. No need to worry though... book 2 is available.

Opposites do attract. Cade is a football quarterback who is trying to escape from an unfortunate situation. Andie is a librarian who loves her research. Can this unlikely couple survive?

Chris Abell once again does a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life.

Quick page turner

Any additional comments?

The first audiobook I read by this author used the same narrator. This gave my experience a pleasant feeling of familiarity from the beginning since I enjoyed his narration for that book also.

Intercepted by Love is a romance so it's no surprise that everyone is exactly the cliche they need when they need to be so. This doesn't stop Ayala from fleshing out the main characters and making them complex and relatable. More importantly, the characters, at least the main 2, feel like individuals. It would be far too easy for one character to basically be fantasy-fulfillment for the other but the author avoids this. Andie and Cade each have their own personalities, histories, and motivations. Although it's inevitable that they'll end up together (being the only interesting characters in a romance novel), it doesn't feel cheap. There's an emotional and literary satisfaction which you can only get when the relationship feels earned.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

I loved it.

This is a well written and preformed book. I have yet to find a book by this author that I didn't enjoy. The characters are likeable. The storyline is engaging beginning to end. While I received this audio to listen and review I was so drawn into the story that I couldn't wait for the next part to release and quickly one clicked the entire series in ebook format to see how this story unfolds!

Sexy, Great beginning

Where does Intercepted by Love rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's near the top of my favorite sport romances

What did you like best about this story?

I liked everything about this story except that it is done in parts.

What about Chris Abell’s performance did you like?

Everything. His voice is sexy, smooth and he is able to capture even the female voices without sounding silly. His cadence is spot on.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

My mouth fell open at the cliff hanging end

Any additional comments?

I will admit I was dragging my feet on this one. Only because it is a sports romance and that it's football. I love Rachelle Ayala stories so I decided to give them a chance and glad I did.
This is the first book and it does hang on a cliff hanger.
Cade has thrown a bad play causing his team to lose the playoffs so he goes into hiding. He winds up in New York and meets sexy librarian Andi. She is a researcher and knows everything about King David and then some. She has a secret that keeps her from wanting to have relationships. she is happy wound up in her research. Her father has had a stroke and she has to help support them.

This book builds up the characters backstories and their meeting. it is short, fast paced and having to dogs causing an issue makes t lots of fun. I even found the facts on King David and his wives interesting.

If you are looking for something to fill in a short space of time this is a good one. I will admit I don't care for books done in parts so I listened to all three of these in one day.

The Quarterback

Short and at times very funny story.
It was enjoyable enough, with an ending making you want to know what will happen next,
Narrator got better the more you listen, he got with the flow and made it enjoyable. He has a great voice that's for sure.

Fantastic!!!!

Wow! This is a fantastic start to a new romance series! I love this authors writing and always get so invested in her characters. Narration was really well done for this story.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. The fact that I was gifted this book had no influence over my opinion of it.

**I'm a First-Timer**

As the title of my review suggests, I'm a first-timer when it comes to listening to steamy romance audiobooks, such as this one by Rachelle Ayala. Intercepted by Love: The Quarterback's Heart, Book 1 was one I'll never forget...they say you never forget your 1st...but it seems like it won't end here for me because the cliff-hanger at the end has me wondering what happens next!! :-)

At first, I wondered a bit how this was all going to turn out...a guy narrating a steamy romance? Well, I definitely think Narrator Chris Abell did a fantastic job! His voice was perfect for his own character, as well as the others! Not one time did I feel distracted by the fact it was a guy speaking the words and thoughts of a female. I think most of the books I have listened to have female narrators, so not only am I not used to a guy narrating, but from some that I have listened to, I get a bit bored. Not here! Chris Abell does an excellent job!! He kept my interest the whole time, and he sounded exactly as I imagined him to sound! He was easy to understand, had great pace, and perfect volume. I couldn't find anything that would prevent me from listening to more of the books he has narrated. In fact, I have even started sampling some of his other work. :-) Keep it up, Chris!

Right away I knew I was going to have no problem staying engaged in the story. I LOVE dogs, and I LOVE that the books I have read from Rachelle Ayala all have animals playing a central role in the storyline. Unless you are not an animal lover, I feel including them in the story makes the plot and characters more relatable to the reader, more realistic to everyday events, and much more exciting! In my opinion, the inclusion of animals draws in more readers (like myself) who wouldn't normally read/listen to books of this genre. Way to go, Rachelle!

I give Intercepted by Love: The Quarterback's Heart, Book 1, 🎆5-stars🎆 across the board. Even though I have nothing to compare it to, I felt that the performance was right on, and the storyline was entertaining! Truthfully, I didn't know what to expect with a book like this....I just assumed it would be a long narration of sex...hehee! Now I know otherwise! I'm glad I chose to dip my toes into life on this side of the fence because I learned it wasn't bad at all! Rachelle Ayala, thank you for being my first! I will remember you 4-Life! :-)

Thanks for reading my review. I hope it helped.
