About this listen

DANGEROUS LIAISON

Ever since the tragic death of his parents, Porsche's life has been a balancing act between attending college and bartending to support his younger brother and pay off his deadbeat uncle's gambling debt. When he witnesses a gang of thugs attacking a handsome young man in the alley behind his bar, he's reluctant to intervene--until he's offered fifty thousand baht to help the stranger escape. The stranger is known as Kinn, the second son of a notorious crime family. Impressed with Porsche's fighting skills, Kinn makes a proposition: if Porsche agrees to become his personal bodyguard, his debts will be absolved. Porsche doesn't want any trouble, especially not the kind of trouble Kinn deals in. But Kinn always gets what he wants.

Very different and love the unique societal make-up. Please continue to get out audiobook versions. It was enjoyable to have such well formed MC's-and both pretty dominant at that.

Though I wish a Thai actor would have narrated the story. The narrator did a great job with the story.

Please note trigger warnings of transphobia, non-consensual sexual assault and violence.

The plot line of this story gets lost, a lot. Sometimes the author gives us time lines and others it’s a guess, but with no consistency. This makes the characters forgetting important parts of their plot line very hard to over look. The characters themselves keep changing too, and not in a “character development” way but in a “the author didn’t flush out the character” way. The story jumps around aimlessly and ends abruptly with no conclusion nor a cliffhanger. And that’s all besides the issues of the dub-con, SA, harassment, and straight up rape. I could not recommend this story to anyone; honestly I’ve read better material on Wattpad and AO3 by authors and writers of a wide age range from all over the world.

Why does Porsche suddenly become weak and unable to defend himself when Kinn is involved? Very annoying. He gets grabbed constantly by Kinn but still hasn't learned to defend against it even though he is a judo champion??
I can't really fathom why Porsche is the way he is... I was gonna give up on listening to this but I'm bored with nothing better to do (though I might stop with 4 hours left because it is becoming exhausting). Porsche has no character depth unless the situation calls for it. The rest of the time he is angry and belligerent without any thoughts of consequences even after continuously being chastised.
He cares for his brother more than anything in the world but he keeps behaving like his brother's life isn't actively being affected by his decisions. And then the brother kinda disappears for awhile and isn't brought up... I guess because the writer doesn't want us to remember the stakes so we can view Porsche's actions as even remotely reasonable???
It is frustrating because he doesn't just do it to Kinn. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone, but if you do try it anyway, just beware you need patience the entire time because it won't get better (at least in this book).

Frustrating characters and repetitive mistakes
