About this listen
At the age of 24, working with his wife at a car wash, Larry Winters was struggling to get by. He decided he needed to make a change for the better, so he seized control of his life and, day by day, built his own business. Along the way, he learned many lessons about sacrifice, personal responsibility, determination and independence.
Live the Dream: No More Excuses, is Winters' inspiring story of his journey from a young man with no ambition to a man in control of his financial destiny. He uses examples from his own life to teach listeners how to gain financial freedom for themselves. Most importantly, Winters stresses how self limitation is damaging and holds people back, keeping them from achieving the successful lives they desire.
Live the Dream provides an inspirational blue-print for listeners to gain financial freedom - to give up excuses and achieve their life goals, all while staying grounded in what really matters: family, friends and faith.
Larry Winters' powerful motivational style will have listeners ready to seize the day and live their dreams.

God always steps in when you love and help others.
This was the actual first book I've read from cover to cover. Larry and Pam Winters are such a blessing to this world, always thinking of helping others. That right there is what this world is lacking love for others. When you devote your life to helping others. God steps in and guides everything else into place.

Larry Proves that ANYONE can Live the Dream
What did you love best about Live the Dream?
I liked that the book was not some theory by some PhD, but rather was a true life story of an average guy with just a high school education, but put himself in a position to learn how to chase his dream and succeed. It is instructive to us, because he did not have money to start with, nor social connections, or any traditional advantages, so anyone can do it.
What other book might you compare Live the Dream to and why?
Master Key to Riches by Napoleon Hill, although not a personal success story, it details how an average guy was commissioned in the early 20th centrury to interview successful people to learn from them and distill his findings into a workable plan for the masses.
Which character – as performed by Larry Winters – was your favorite?
Larry himself is very funny and he is brutally honest about some of the low points of his life as well as several of Larry's associates were interesting real characters.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
The idea that to really be free in America, you must have a business of your own. This is logical becasue we all know that even if you make a good income at a job it usually comes with a high time committment which obviously lowers your quality of life. A business of your own structured correctly could eventually give you freedom to step away from the day to day operations of business but still enjoy a high income.
But how, most businesses take a lot of time & money and risk and expertise. Well, there is a way to handle those issues and Larry touches on it eventually.
Any additional comments?
This book is required reading for anyone who thinks they are destined for more than just sitting in a cube at work, but they are not sure they have the qualifications or time or money to do anything about it.
Larry proves that you can Live the Dream and there are really NO EXCUSES not to try.

You Need This Book!
Would you listen to Live the Dream again? Why?
I would and will absolutely listen to Live the Dream again and again. There are so many life lessons, you can't possibly absorb them all in one listen.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Live the Dream?
Probably when Larry came home to find Pam and baby Tara wrapped in blankets in the kitchen after their heat had been turned off working on paperwork and not complaining.
Which scene was your favorite?
This would have to be when Larry discovered he had been conducting a meeting when his pants were unzipped and his business associate didn't say anything because Larry had previously told him not to interupt once a meeting had started.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Definitely.
Any additional comments?
This book will help you in every area of your life. It's not just for the entrepenuer but for anyone.
