nice narrative, but lack of examples

mostly built on general and common sense suggestions that without concrete examples remain quite vague. A little bit desapointed, specially after reading the genius book "How to make friends and influence people"

Relevant but skims surface

I’d like more examples of situations and options on how to handle. But still a good start.

Interesting

I like the simplicity of the topic. Sometimes, we think a situation is so much bigger then it actually is. This book made it easy in bite size pieces.

Excelent book!

It goes direct to the main point. Gives you an easy to follow program that you can understand and put in practice right away.. while I listened to it I had the chance to interact with new people and this book helped me to get me introduced better and have the absolute confidence to start a conversation about different subjects!

Good info, useless chapters on online conversation

It's a nice little book with good info about how to construct conversations. I wouldn't say it gives you a full framework, but maybe a bit of a framework that is useful enough to boost your conversational skills, as well as some specific techniques to do so.

One thing that I found useless is the part on online conversations/etiquette, those things are obvious. Maybe it's just me though, because it may have been targeted at the older generation who are not familiar with online communication very good.

If you don't have anything better to listen...

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It is very short. There is not much information. Very general, but, if you don't have anything better you can give it a shot.

Would you recommend How to Start a Conversation and Make Friends to your friends? Why or why not?

I won't recommend it to my friends.

Any additional comments?

The Dale Carnagie's book called "How to make friends and influence people" is muuuuuch more informative.
"How to Start a Conversation and Make Friends" is more like, "when you at the party, SMILE!" - really?
Dale Carnegie is going deeper, into psychology, the way of thinking, arguments, etc. Way better book.

I do not recommend "How to Start a Conversation and Make Friends."
