Publisher's summary

A thrilling new Star Trek “movie era” novel from New York Times bestselling author Greg Cox!

Three Eras. Three Mysteries. One Ancient Enemy?

2024: Almost forty years ago, marine biologist Gillian Taylor stormed away from her dream job at Sausalito’s Cetacean Institute—and was never seen or heard from again. Now, a new true crime podcast has reopened that cold case, but investigator Melinda Silver has no idea that her search for the truth about Gillian’s disappearance will ultimately stretch across time and space—and attract the attention of a ruthless obsessive with his own secret agenda.

2268: The U.S.S. Enterprise’s five-year mission is interrupted when Captain James T. Kirk and his crew set out to recover an abducted Federation scientist whose classified secrets are being sought by the Klingons as well. The trail leads to a barbaric world off limits to both Starfleet and the Klingon Empire—and an ageless mastermind on a quest for eternity.

2292: The Osori, an ancient alien species, has finally agreed to establish relations with its much younger neighbors: the Federation, the Klingons, and the Romulans. A joint mission involving ships from all three powers, including the Enterprise-A, turns explosive when one of the Osori envoys is apparently killed. Each side blames the others, but the truth lies buried deep, nearly three hundred years in the past…

The story

I love the story. The TOS movies are my favorite incarnation of Trek. This feels like a perfect sequel to those movies.

A Thrilling, Action-Packed TOS Adventure

Lost to Eternity is a masterful addition to the Star Trek: TOS Universe. Set during the original five-year mission, this story captures the adventure and camaraderie of Captain Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise. Greg Cox, as always, stays true to the tone and narrative of the original series. In this fast-paced and engaging story, Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and the rest of the crew embark on a thrilling mission to recover a Federation scientist while facing off against the foreboding Klingons and a blast from the past that has been weaving a thread throughout history that connects the timelines in a way that Cox does so masterfully.

Robert Petkoff's narration is outstanding. He brings every character to life with distinct voices, familiar quips, and emotions that cast the listener into the TOS universe.

If you are a Star Trek fan, this is a must-listen. Great job, Greg Cox; you perfectly capture the essence of TOS. Robert Petkoff, you deliver the story in an immersive and masterful way. I highly recommend this adventure.

Great Star Trek story

Enjoyable storyline with the original series cast. Nice performance by Robert Petkoff. This novel does a great job of weaving several Star Trek adventures together. My only gripe is that it seems to have been written for young adults. That may have been intentional, but I find much of the dialogue to be very sophomoric.

I loved the entire book !

The narrator does an excellent job with voices. We finally find out what happened to Jillian Taylor, you know, from the movie, the one with the whales ! A most wonderful book broken down into 3 time frames. Greg Cox hit a home run!!

GREAT FOLLOW UP STORY FOR THE "VOYAGE HOME"!

So......what ever happened Marine Biologist Jillian Taylor, who suddenly
vanished, along with the whales she'd cared deeply for, George and Gracie back in 1986?
Well.......This story follows up on it.....

GREAT STORY!!

Great connections to the movies

This story was simply fabulous, I loved the way it connected three different time-lines and really opened the door to another possible nemesis of James T. Kirk and crew!

A Fun, Era-Spanning Adventure!

This adventure took us from the familiar world of true crime podcasts to the time of the Original Star Trek Series to the Star Trek movie era flawlessly. It was fun to think about someone doing a cold case podcast about Dr. Taylor, and it was great to see the original Enterprise crew save the day again! Also, I love that Simon and Schuster are releasing unabridged Star Trek audio books! I am so happy for this, and I hope they will continue to release all the new titles.

The time jumps were a great story point.

Nice version of “what happened next?” I enjoyed hearing more of the story from the movie. A good original Star Trek story.
