Reasonable, sensible and encouraging

Made me feel like I could do this by focusing on myself and my health. Nothing else has worked, so it’s time for me.

Just what I needed

This book cleared my head and gave me a starting point for my own healing. It's easy to understand and is incredibly helpful. I felt so lost before.... now, I understand my part in dealing with my partner's addiction and my own issues with enabling him. If there's no change, then there's no change. Everyone who loves an addict (or anyone suffering from enabling or codependency) and feels lost...you need this book. It's time to heal yourself.

Helpful

Very helpful book and good advice if you're ready to take it. A lot of things I already knew but hearing it sometimes helps it sink in more.

Great for professionals and self help

I loved this book! As a professional in the mental health and addiction field sometimes it can be hard to find literature for continuing education and to recommend to patients. This is a great book for both professionals and individuals seeking self help.

Highly recommended

This book was an excellent read. It really helps you to understand different levels of your codependency. It also helps you to understand how addiction could be affecting your life from the addict in your life. My favorite part of the book was the last chapter. The last chapter gives you strategies and a better understanding of how to reach out for help and how to get the proper help. For some people that may be easy, but for others they may struggle, so I really like how they ended this book.
