About this listen

Secret of the Old Ones is a deep dive VR game the likes of which the world had never seen.

Trent Noguero, a hardcore gamer, has been playing for a year and is about to get his big break. He is about to catapult himself into the ranks of the most powerful players in the world.

However, power comes with a price, and celebrity creates enemies. Trent has the keys to massive success, but he also accidentally painted a target on his back...both in, and out of the game.

A great beginning!

First of all, anything that Jeff Hays reads is elevated to a level few narrators provide their books. Secondly, Blaise Corving is one b@d@ss writing mofo. Secret of the Old Ones hits points on so many levels that you simply cannot stop reading/listening. The characters are great, and the setting is perfect for anyone who is a lovecraftian fanatic. The only drawback to this book is that it is far too short. It makes you want more as soon as you are finished, but then so does his other series, Delvers, Inc. For storytelling that would make ErnestHemmingway jealous, and vocal characterizations so smooth you can't tell if Hays is an aged bourbon or a light jazz soloist GIVE THIS BOOK A TRY!!!!

Worth the buy

I have been putting off this book because it was so short but it really is worth the price/credit.

A different level.

Blaise does this better than most. It's like he s just teasing everyone. Just want him to continue this and make it a real book. Meaning about 8 more hours of content. Should go without saying but Hays is the man. Almost just as good as Porter. Great job everyone.

It’s good

It’s great until the last 18min mark. The main character becomes pathetic in that part. After that I guess it’s ok, but without me saying spoilers, I know a MC from another book who handled the same situation better & outwit them.

to short

I have read the entire blaise corvin library on audible and it's definitely his style. I loved the story and it's development but it was a really short book and it deserves a sequel.
