Using an inside-out approach, How to Kill a Narcissist presents seven practices for recovery and healing, each designed to instill you with independence, strength, emotional resilience, and awareness, while allowing you to cultivate balanced, loving relationships and pursue a life of passion.

Until now, we have been taught that forgiveness is good for us and that good people forgive. Dr. Spring, a gifted therapist and the award-winning author of After the Affair, proposes a radical, life-affirming alternative that lets us overcome the corrosive effects of hate and get on with our lives - without forgiving. She also offers a powerful and unconventional model for genuine forgiveness - one that asks as much of the offender as it does of us.

Individuals with this disorder engage in chronic devaluation and manipulation of their partners, a psychological and emotional phenomenon known as "narcissistic abuse". Unfortunately, the full extent of what narcissistic abuse entails is not taught in any psychology class or diagnostic manual.

Quick, easy, helpful read!
I have two teens with an extreme narcissist who uses them at every turn and will not co-parent. The no contact rule is virtually impossible with children in general. You couple teenage drama, learning disabilities, sports, and still going through the legal divorce process after 2 1/2 years etc, it is a recipe for pure and utter madness with the narcissist in control.
Most books on self help period are dull are hard to apply to your situations. This book was fast paced, easy to follow and very helpful. Even though the workbook was extra I found it to be a helpful tool as well because I am more visual when trying to map something out.
I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who has children with a Narcissist divorced or otherwise.

Love this book!
If only I had this information 20 years ago! This is an effective, relatable way of teaching this new language. Communication is key to all relationships. Lindsey does an excellent job of teaching ways to speak to and negotiate with people that are difficult to do so with. I found it extremely beneficial to me as a woman healed from a narcissistic marriage. This is a must read guidebook for anyone struggling to be heard.

Insightful and helpful
Appreciate the perspective on how to deal with a relationship with a toxic malignant narcissist. The horrific abuse these people inflict is dehumanizing and de-identifying, and (in my case with my husband) filled with criminal activity. This book, paired with others, provides further insight into the fact that there are others out there who have endured the extreme suffering and pain. I will never get back my pregnancies that were lost because of his horrific abuse, but I am thankful to have escaped his physical abuse when I did. Unfortunately narcissists are enabled by bosses, employees, senior administrators and lurk like predators as professors, directors, scientists, researchers etc. in positions gained by fraudulent means. While little can be done right now - sharing information and knowledge to help others is most valuable.

Very insightful!
I really enjoyed listening to this book. It touched on a lot of situations that I have had through my marriage with a narcissist. I truly believe this to be one of the best books about a narcissistic relationshipI personally had to listen to, or read. I found the suggestions the author gave to be very helpful and easy to understand. I have actually tried some of them with my narcissist and seriously they work, just don’t tell the narcissist what you’re doing, Or that you read this book that helps tell you how to get along with them! Consider this your little secret that helps you make life easier when dealing with your narcissist.
