About this listen

As his Homo Novus project comes to fruition, Fabius Bile faces a new threat - the dreaded haemonculi of the Thirteen Scars. Can he marshal his forces to protect his creations, or are the New Men doomed to death?

Listen to it because: discover what happens when you cross the Haemonculus covens...and what lengths Fabius Bile will go to in order to survive their deadly attentions.

The story: in the centuries since his return from Commorragh, Fabius Bile has distanced himself from the affairs of friend and foe, content only to oversee the cruel evolution of his New Men. But when his creations are threatened by the monstrous haemonculi of the Thirteen Scars, the Manflayer is forced to seek out new allies and old enemies alike in an effort to preserve all that he has built. Homo Novus must survive...even if Fabius Bile must die to ensure it.

Highly recommend this book.

Fantastic. It's a shame that this is the last Black Library novel will ever write.

Essential 40k reading.

A wild ride through and through, some of the best in 40k novels, up there with The Infinite and The Divine.

An Interesting Ending

it's not the Ending I wanted, and it certainly took a direction that went further from the traditional mad scientist than I would have liked, but even still, it was a good story, and the amazing narration from John Banks.

Great read

Little hard to follow in the middle, but did a nice job wrapping everything up and tying it all together by the end

Excellent Scifi Endeavor

The works of Fabius Bile are mentally stimulating food-for-thought scenarios for the mad science types out there. Each book of this set have explored the wily nature of Fabius' mind and views against all manner of foe, his will indomitable every step of the way. Manflayer culminates in Fabius' greatest feat of biological engineering yet, paving the way for a scientist of immeasurable craft free of restraints.

Now I can look forward to his book with Cawl with the excitement it deserves.

Space Pimp for the win!

Fabius is by far my favorite nefarious character in all of 40k and this book just made me love him all the more.

An ending of sorts

A really somber ending of an amazing trilogy with a mass effect ending type of finale. It’s very fast paced but worth the read but defiantly a lot of information to digest constantly.

Really good series.

Better ending then I'd thought it would be for the series. Used to dislike Fabius Bile, and the Emperor's Children. This series has utterly changed my perspective. Fabius the ultimate mad scientist, and has all the returning characters from the prior books, good fun. Also LOTS of Drukari, even Drukari POV scenes.
