From the international best-selling author of the DCI Ryan mysteries.

A new Doctor Alexander Gregory thriller performed by Richard Armitage.

You can’t run from the past....

Back in London after a dramatic trip to North America, Doctor Alexander Gregory finds himself without an occupation while he awaits the all-important decision of the disciplinary panel at Southmoor Hospital. That is, until he witnesses the death of a famous actor, live on stage during the opening night of King Lear. When the police rule the death suspicious, they call upon the elite services of Gregory and his partner in criminal profiling, Bill Douglas.

Gregory is paired with attractive investigating officer DCI Hope, and tensions arise - especially when an old foe resurfaces.

With bodies piling up and no new leads, Gregory and Hope realise they must look to the past to uncover the truth - before it’s too late. Immersed in the glamorous world of celebrity, Gregory soon learns that, beneath the surface, things are far murkier than they seem....

Murder and mystery are peppered with dark humour in this fast-paced thriller set amidst London’s vibrant Theatreland.

LJ Ross thriller with great narration

Richard Armitage does his customary magic with this work. The characters are intriguing and well drawn, and the plot is clever, with many tense moments and a few twists and surprises. The ending was a slight let-down, but not enough to spoil the book.

Ends on a cliffhanger

Another awesome installment in this mystery series and as always top notch narration by Richard Armitage. This one ends in a very to be continued open ending so I am looking forward to the next volume.

Very Enjoyable

This is the 2nd LJ Ross book I've listened to and although the psychological terms and things tend to go over my head, the story itself is very engaging. I love the Alex Gregory protagonist and how he overcomes his own psych issues while continuing to do his job catching serial killers. I would recommend this book.

A Gripping Thriller

Two deaths days apart. We're they suicides? Or murder. Dr. Alexander Gregory must find the truth behind these two deaths by profiling not only the suspect but the first victim as well. Throw in a third gruesome murder and all the rules change.

This was a gripping thriller with a surprise cliffhanger. Brilliant writing by LJ Ross along with excellent narration by Richard Armitage.

Great series and narration..

I absolutely loved this story! And I think I loved it so much was because of the narrator.
This was about the death of actor Nigel Villiers to begin with, then more deaths, that Dr. Alexander Gregory agreed to help the police solve. But when another murder happened Alex new that this one had nothing to do with the others.

No romance and no swearing.

As for the narration: Richard Armitage does a fantastic job.

Intriguing

Another great book by LJ Ross, giving us insight in the human psyche, confronting us with our own fears and issues which makes it all the more true.
As always great narration by Richard Armitage, who’s warm voice keeps you mesmerized in making the story come the life, giving the characters a voice of their one

Hubris-Nemesis Complex?

The storytelling is smooth and you do not need to know the entire history of Dr. Gregory to appreciate this story. His past is nicely woven into the story line.. The glimpse into the background of each character is introduced at the appropriate point and is clear. The interactions between the characters as colleagues can be found in many breakrooms. The opening prose from Othello represents the heart of the story. The villains and the "good guys" have some obsession that forces their actions. The arrogance and ego created circumstances that the victims have a vengeful desire to humiliate and punish. In the author's note section, she mentions the genesis of this story was the METOO movement. Yes, it did highlight the hubris of those in control. Of course, that movement morphed into what it was trying to fight. The author's idea of creating the main characters as high profile actors because they tend to get the most publicity is the truth. Unfortunately, justice also follows high-profile elites. It's interesting this was released in 2022. We've seen mania on all levels of society mainly based on fear. The narration by Richard Armitage is outstanding. Distinctive voices and passion!

Keeps one’s attention and great narration!

Twist and turns leading to an interesting closure of sorts.

Richard Armitage’s excellent narration glides one through the story and captures the various characters’ beautifully. The main reason I chose the book was because of Armitage and I wasn’t disappointed.

Definitely worth the listen.
