About this listen

In Marketing 5.0, the celebrated promoter of the "Four P's of Marketing", Philip Kotler, explains how marketers can use technology to address customers' needs and make a difference in the world.

In a new age when marketers are struggling with the digital transformation of business and the changing behavior of customers, this book provides marketers with a way to integrate technological and business model evolution with the dramatic shifts in consumer behavior that have happened in the last decade.

Following the pattern presented in his bestselling Marketing X.0 series, Philip Kotler covers the crucial topics necessary to understand modern marketing, including: artificial intelligence for marketing automation, agile marketing, "segments of one" marketing, contextual technology, facial recognition and voice tech for marketing, the future of customer experience (CX), transmedia storytelling, the "whatever-whenever-wherever" service delivery, "everything-as-a-service" business model, Internet of Things and blockchain for marketing, virtual and augmented reality marketing, and corporate activism.

Insightful and such a refresher!

I really liked how this book was a reminder of everything I have been learning in marketing throughout my career and university years, while also updating the information I have.

Great overview of digital changes in marketing

Woke? What does that even mean? This book was very well done and represents the digital transformation very well. Political? If by political you mean business related marketing dialog than maybe? If you are interested in multichannel marketing and how new tech impacts marketing, give this one a listen. Marketing IS boring, so the content can be dry, but this is a solid foundational book. Put that in your pipe and woke it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book

Did not see any “woke” or “liberal” themes, this book does a great job of explaining the future of marketing through the digital lease. Great insights that really made me think about how marketing has and will continue to evolve with new technologies. Would recommend to anybody wanting to get into marketing in the 21st century.

Very disappointing

This book came highly recommend. So, I stuck with it. The first four chapters are primarily liberal/woke nonsense. Also, this book isn’t helpful. Unless you run a massive corporation this book wasn’t written for you. If you are a new/small business then this book was not written for you. The 3.0 version was the recommended book however, I thought that reading the latest version would be more useful. At this point I wouldn’t read 3.0 or any other books by these authors.

Lots of bias

I had great hopes for this book but it has so much political bias about “the rich”, environmental, ect.

Boring 5.0

Sounds like it was written by AI. Narrator was not fun to listen too. Threw in the towel with 4 hours left
