About this listen

Mark was happy enough, working as a mechanic.

He didn't know that he was more than that until his mother gave him some keepsakes from his grandfather. Those opened his eyes to a whole world that he hadn't realized he had a place in. Watch him learn to use his new skills.

A cracking origin story setting out the world the stories live in. And also the people we will learn about who inhabit it

The authors loyalty to his audible reader of his wonderful Bob and Nicki series where the reader’s Missouri hillbilly voice is a good fit. But to me it would have been a better fit if some of his other voices were used for the protagonists. I look forward to learning about the magic system that came into Mark’s world when the A bombs that ended WW2 were dropped on Japan. All in all a very good listen and I will be buying the next installment just as I buy every recording of the Bob and Niki as soon as it is released.

Chris and Jerry do it again.

I've read all of Jerry's Bob and Nikki series, and buy Chris' readings of them as soon as they come out. I truly liked this new venture of their's. I have the KU version of Dr Mark, but I'mma gonna wait until Chris does the audiobook.

Another outstanding start to a series

This was much different than what I was expecting and is an awesome story and series. I just hope having 2 series narrated by Chis isn’t going to slow things down. It’s hard enough to wait for Bobs Saucer stories and now there’s double the books.

Story premise is fine

The dialogue which is most of the book is stunted, cringy…. I don’t know the correct words to describe it. When I. Read the book it flowed alot better in my mind. I don’t want to say it is the narrator for sure but I can’t listen to it straight through. I have to take breaks. I listen to all my books at 1.2 - 1.3 without exception voice cadence sounds more natural to me at that speed

Enjoyed the first book

Mark learns he is a powerful new magician. The ups and downs are humorous. As with his other series I expect this one to grow and be just as special. I love Chris Cuila as narrator, his characters are different and easily picked out. Now when does the next book arrive??

Really liked this book

Thrilled to have another book by the author of Saucer Repair. I listen to those books over and over. This one was just as good. Except it's not space worthy. It's about special magic abilities. Can't wait for the next one

This one bob and nicky, but for magic, strong start, and I must read around the pool or close the app ixu fireplace

This is one of those good stories. Theft, it's grounded in family. Magic has some intrigue. It's a strong story. It's something that you just wanna have when you're seeing by the fire or by the pool, to just listen to, if you have family with a lot of charming in it, this will give you a little chuckle. It's gotten a lot of magic and there's a strong start to what could be an amazing series if you like Bob
and nikki And what that series did for space travel? But you want a little magic, then this is the serious for you

Some holes, but a really easy listen

I enjoyed the narrator... the tonal drop for "he said" "she said" was new to me and absolutely perfect. I had to re-listen in spots because of the accent, but it was a nice, cozy drawl.

The story seemed to have some holes -- like when did the two youngsters get so cozy? -- but after I realized it wasn't "me", I ignored it and continued on. This will be a good book to listen while I'm drifting off to sleep.

If you wanted to nitpick you could, but I enjoyed the story. YMMV.
