About this listen

When a mysterious stranger unveils a long-hidden truth, Lauren Malloy’s life is thrown into chaos. For years, Lauren believed her mother, Lori, died of natural causes, but the shocking reality is that her loving mother was brutally murdered when Lauren was just an infant.

Now, 30 years later, Lauren is on a relentless quest for justice. Over the past four years, she’s embarked on an emotional journey filled with unexpected twists, recording hundreds of hours of interviews with law enforcement, family, friends, and even potential suspects. Her mission: to finally uncover the identity of Lori’s killer.

Lauren’s gripping, real-time podcast series chronicles her investigation into her mother’s life and untimely death, navigating a tangled web of family secrets, deceit, and systemic failures in the seemingly idyllic town of East Providence, Rhode Island.

Excellent story telling! Excellent production! Lauren Malloy’s journey to open her mother’s case is fascinating. I learned so much about the nuisance of laws surrounding a closed case. I have so much respect for Malloy sitting through hours of conversations to try and piece together this mystery. I love this series. I am hoping for multiple seasons so we can hear how Malloy gets all the answers she and her mother Lori deserve. Would love a series where Malloy cracks other cases in Rhode Island too.

This story is so surreal and infuriating. As Lauren investigates the death of her mother, Lori, she finds numerous people that know more than the police ever did. There are so many fine details uncovered through recorded interviews with people who were close to Lori and never spoke to investigators.

I’ve never heard a podcast like this. With authentic, recorded, candid conversations, It feels like you are right by Lauren’s side while she digs for answers.

Hit play and buckle up. You won’t be disappointed!
