About this listen

Successful but shy, Seattle art dealer Mattie Sharpe fell hard for handsome, outspoken, professional adventurer Hugh Abbott. When he broke her heart and returned to his South Sea island home, Mattie vowed she'd only meet him again over her - or better, his - dead body.

When they do meet again, it's over someone else's dead body - and now they're running for their lives through a tropical paradise. Hugh's talking fast to make up for his mistake. Mattie's not listening...until his gentle touch ignites a white-hot fusion, and she gives in. But Hugh's past is catching up with them, and Mattie must stake her very survival on the man she loves - the only man who ever let her down!

If there is a silver lining to a broken heart, Mattie's about to discover it - when love storms back into her life and sweeps her off her feet!

Not a bad story but.........

I found the characters to be predictable and cliche, and not very likable. When you really don't like the personalities of the hero and heroine, it makes it very hard to enjoy the story. The story itself wasn't bad, but it was also a bit predictable. It kept my interest enough to finish the book, and I didn't hate it, but not my favorite.

you can tell this is an older story.

I realized this was an older title when I decided to purchase. As I anticipated the story is not quite up to the quality I expect from Krantz in 2018 but still worth the romp.

Great story

I read this book at the time that it came out. As I said a great story. As with a good wine that develops over time, so has Jayne Ann Krentz

Dated

Story is very dated and somewhat inappropriate in today’s world. Despite it appearing to be a recent recording, I think it was written in the early 90s.

Why?

Harlequin books equal Amy McFadden. In my nightmares I will hear her voice saying “Hugh, Hugh, Hugh.” Where is the adventure, the imagination?
