Publisher's summary

After narrowly surviving my debut into the magical world, I made a promise to myself: no more hiding in broom closets. But with the Mages' Guild reorganizing faster than anyone thought possible, and naming me as their number one target, that promise seems a little far-fetched. Especially since my training with Callie and Dizzy, the highly experienced dual-mage pair, goes off like a cake in a cannon. Left to find someone that can fill the role, it isn't until a formal dinner party goes horribly wrong that I find the best (and worst) solution imaginable: Reagan Somerset, the leather-clad crazy woman who busted into my broom closet sanctuary in the first place. Through an off-kilter teaching style and many punches in the face, I learn my true potential. But with her happier busting heads and kicking in doors than staying put with a pupil in hiding, it isn't long before the world comes crashing down. The Guild has found me, and they intend to take me alive.

Great series so far

I was very impressed w/this series. I have to admit that the reason I bought this book is because Nicole Poole is one of my 3 favorite narrator's. I'm glad I did. Penny & Emmery are great together & I've fallen in love w/Reagan. She is a boss b**ch w/good intentions. Look forward to reading about her & Darious.
I've always wondered in almost every book about the supernatural vampires get the rawest deal. They are always considered untrustworthy because sum abuse their power. But in every book there are ones who seem to help the witches, mages, werewolves, etc...against others vampires, witches, mages, werewolves, etc.... Then aren't the other supernaturals just as corrupt & vampires are hated by them just because the are the strongest. People fear what they do not know. But then they complain about humans fearing them. Isn't it exactly what they do to the vamps???? Lol

Exceptional Series

There are few riders with the natural talent to tell a story that is so engaging you can see the characters in your imagination. matched with the impeccable storytelling of Nicole Poole, the series another example of writing out its best.

Penny & Reagan together?! Oh my! Happiness!!!

K.F. is one of my go to authors so when I found out the pre-order was up for Natural Mage I immediately one clicked! As usual she did not disappoint! She just keeps getting better and so does the series!!!

Penny started off as such a timid character and I did not think I was going to grow to love her as I have. Watching her come in to her own in everything life has to offer has been such an action packed fun ride!

Once everyone finally comes to grip with the fact that Penny is unique in not just her magic but her personality the action starts full force. Penny is unpredictable, untrained and learns by trial and error. Once you throw Reagan in to the mix, hold on, it becomes a bumpy ride filled with laughs, great banter, hijinks, and raw power & magic. Their combination is the best of everything all in one book!

All my favorite characters add to the mix increasing the laughs, action and in the case of Emery all of that and a bond of strength love and added power. There are a few new characters, too some instantly connect to Penny, saving her life and promise to make the next installment even more intriguing because I know that more kick butt badness, magical mayhem and quick wit zingers on the horizon.

You may want to set aside time to read this in a private place because if you are anything like me you will laugh aloud, scream in horror, yell at the characters to run or unleash depending on the situation and you will not want to put this down until the end!!!

Intriguing story, but unlikable character

I liked the story and I’m interested in seeing how the series plays out. Only complaint is that Penny’s character was annoyingly whiny and appears to be a polar opposite to Reagan (especially in the confidence category). I hope to see her improve throughout the series though some proper character development.

Exciting story

The story line keeps getting better with each new book. My train of thought goes with the main character Penny.

Love this series!

I love Raegan. I wish their was more books with her story. This whole series is just awesome and the dialog within the characters is genius. You can tell that KFB really had fun with it.

Entertaining

Light and fun story. The plot is not terribly original, so a lot of the story ends up being predictable. It's still fun and engaging, so I would recommend reading it. I'm not a huge fan of the narrator's style (I've heard several of her other performances), but she did a decent job on this one.
