About this listen

Neat is a stand-alone, small town, country romance in the Becker Brothers Series.

My life is over.

I swore I would never work at the whiskey distillery with my last name on it, that I would never be a part of my father's legacy. But when I graduated with my art degree and realized there were no jobs, the devil appeared, and I sold my soul, agreeing to work in the family business if he'd give me the art studio I'd always dreamed of.

It can't be that bad, I thought.

Until I realized my new boss was Logan Becker.

The Becker brothers have a reputation for being trouble, and since I love trouble, it's no surprise to me that I'm infatuated by that forbidden fruit the first day I walk into the distillery. That lean, whiskey-eyed, too-hot-for-his-own-good man hates me - and I can't blame him. His family has been at war with mine for decades, and for good reason.

The Beckers and the Scooters are the Montagues and Capulets of Stratford, Tennessee.

But if he's Romeo, and I'm Juliet? Well...we all know how that story ends - and for that reason, I tell myself to steer clear.

Because if my father finds out I'm falling for Logan Becker, my life actually will be over.

And Logan's will be, too.

Started a little slow

But ended quite well. This book proves that opposites can attract. Logan is a neat freak, Mallory is not. He’s loves to read and watch Nat Geo, she’s an artist. And their families hate each other. But that doesn’t stop these two from jumping head first into love. Liked the narrators and the story is cute.

Enemies to Lovers

Oh man Neat totally had me in romance bliss. Definitely loved Logan's book as he falls for the rebel Scooter daughter Mallory. The narrators really set the tone and I enjoyed it immensely. Both were fabulous narrators. Logan should hate Mallory since her father is the enemy who the Becker's suspect had something to do with their father's death. There is no denying that Logan has always been fascinated with Mallory, the girl who doesn't conform and walks to the beat of her own drum.

The attraction between Logan and Mallory will give you all the feels. While they are complete opposites they fit so well. So adorable, yet they had to keep their affair a secret from her parents. We even got to find out more about papa Becker which has me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to see how that mystery unfolds. Even better what's in store for the rest of the Becker siblings.

All the feels

I’m completely amazed in Kandi’s talent in using beautiful words to make a simple plot flourish and effortlessly give us a story that was heartfelt, arresting, and poignant. I’m totally in love with Neat, the second book of the Becker Brothers. It was a modern day Romeo and Juliet love story filled with complex and lovable characters, genuine dialogues and a well-developed plot.

Logan and Mallory were from two rivalry families in the small town Stratford. They never got to know each other while they were growing up, but when an unexpected opportunity arise, chemistry sparked and passion flared. Logan and Mallory were like two pieces of puzzle that fitted perfectly together. She was the messy chaos to his OCD-planning, the art to his logic, the spontaneity and unexpected to his day-to-day routine. However, they knew their family would not approved of their relationship and their dreams would be jeopardized if they were found to be together.

My heart broken for this star-crossed couple. The pushing/pulling and the internal struggles that they encountered were agonizing. I can feel the despair and turmoil that they experienced when they were stuck in between what their heart wanted and what was deemed right by their family. I cannot help but fell in love with Logan. His kindness and consideration were so swoon-worthy. His vulnerability and authenticity to his feelings made him so much more realistic.

Along the way to witness another Becker boys found his love, we made a little headway in solving the mystery of the boy’s father, John Becker’s death. I really wish the boys could get the needed closure and justice. Hopefully, the truth would also end this decade long feud between the Becker and Scooter families.

I was again blown away by Kandi’s ability to make me feel what the character was feeling with this beautifully written story. I absolutely enjoyed this touching, earnest romance and would recommend it for anyone who enjoys an angst read that would pull on your heartstrings in the best possible way.

Better than the first

The first book in series creeped me out because it was hard for me to imagine essentially a teenager love story. But this was one was 100000 times better. It was great and I wanted more.

Modern fairy tale.

This book is awesome. A modern day fairy tale, his family hates hers and they fall in love. Fighting against all odds to get to their HEA. Gripping, heart pounding and on the edge of my seat reading this book. Those Becker Boys are swooned worthy. Great series, worth reader’s time.

Draws you in and keeps you hoping

Classic forbidden love story portrayed beautifully with Kandi’s style of writing. Intriguing with just enough to keep you interested without causing whiplash from dramatic plot twists. I enjoy all the characters from this series and look forward to the third.
Mal may be my favorite character yet.

Interesting , not nearly as good as the first book

This was an interesting story, not as good as the first book but it was pretty good. the narration was excellent. Kind of odd though, OCD neat freak has the hots for a tattooed, pierced, flamboyantly dyed, rich brat of a young woman. The one thing that niggles in my mind is that the story isn't complete. There is quite a bit of emphasis placed on the hard drive, although access is not gained and we never find out what's on the hard drive. kind of like an incomplete story. Anyway, pretty good but not anywhere near as good as the first book in this series, that was just a wonderful story in my opinion. Also, I can't believe Logan would even have returned to work after the big announcement that his job had been given to the rich brat daughter. he should have never stepped foot back in the place after that, in my opinion.
