Like the action stories

Adventure in many genres. Well written collection of stories. From western cowboys, to adventure aboard ship, to fighting men, Louis L'Amour makes them all come alive.

Varied tales of modern detective stories

Written in 1950 veniacular, more modern than western. This book gives way to wonderful readings about characters enriched with the same great qualities of self determination and rugged hard living as many of Louis’s western tales. Yet told in excellent voice on audio it lends itself to a time not so long ago when many a man or woman was still skilled laborers and living in growing American industry had to make some hard choices to live by. Enjoyable and spellbinding.

Terrible audio quality

Unfortunately, I have to put strikes against what I think would otherwise be an excellent work. The audio quality was so poor that I couldn't listen to it. I'm uncertain if this is a problem with the digital transfer or the source recording. For some reason I didn't get cover art either! I downloaded the file twice to make sure that wasn't the problem.

Fighting and brutality

I usually love Louise L’Amour but couldn’t get past the first couple chapters. I wish I had realized it was a prize fighting book I would probably have chose something else. It’s brutal, base, and bloody.

None of the content is organized

No way to link to or find the stories. A story just starts in the middle of a chapter. The content is unusable this way unfortunately.
