About this listen

Take the positive parenting approach to help your child overcome defiance through this nine-step parenting plan.

Does your child argue with adults, including you?

Are they easily angered?

Do they oppose every rule and blame others for their mistakes?

Parenting can often feel like an uphill battle, especially as the child grows older.

But sometimes, your child’s behavior is not always childlike. Sometimes, their uncalled-for aggression and defiance can mean something else.

According to the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, it is estimated that nearly 2 to 16 percent of school-going children and teens have ODD.

Usually, in young children, ODD can manifest with depression, anxiety, and even ADHD, and this overlap can make it harder for you to figure out what’s going on.

Children with ODD can also show signs of low self-esteem and are usually angry, annoyed, and moody.

Parenting such a child can prove to be stressful and overwhelming. In such a case, how can you make sure your child not only adopts good behavior but also doesn’t defy what they’re being told?

How can you discipline them without having to resort to anger or getting involved in a power struggle that only leads to resentment?

While it might seem too good to be true, the answer to your worries starts with you.

As a parent, you can model good behavior and social skills in your child using positive reinforcement.

All you have to do is follow these nine steps to get started.

In Parenting Children with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, you will discover:

  • The 9-step parenting plan to help your ODD child through positive parenting techniques
  • A deeper look at Oppositional Defiant Disorder - signs, symptoms, causes, and treatments
  • What your child’s defiance means, and how it relates to ODD as well as ADHD
  • How to build your child’s self-esteem using positive reinforcement
  • Behavior mapping - learn the ABCs of behavior and how you can use these to monitor your child’s behavior progress
  • How to create a behavior plan tailored to your child - discover the tricks and tools you need to bring about positive behavioral modifications
  • Effective communication techniques - show your children love and encouragement
  • How to develop social skills - help your child become a better person, manage their emotions, and make the right decisions

And much more.

Your child has the potential to outgrow ODD, and with proper care and parenting, your child as well as your family can experience a rewarding life.

And it all starts with you…

If you’re ready to help your child overcome defiant behavior using positive parenting, then buy this audiobook now.

Good Insight into ODD

This is a simple, enjoyable audio. If this book is relevant to you and your family, you will be able to tell from the first few chapters. It's almost as if Richard Bass authored this book about my kid in my situation. I had the impression he had been in my home while I listen to it. He offers a lot of straightforward action ideas. Parents of children with Oppositional Defiant Disorder should listen to it.

The book's greatest contribution was to assist me control how I reacted to my son's rebellious conduct and to gain understanding of its underlying causes.

Very impressive.

I learned so much about the thoughts of a child with this disease from this author. He also provides a ton of advice on how to handle rudeness and outbursts.

Great insight!!

I purchased this book after learning about ODD. The similarity between the ODD description and my 6-year-old shocked me. You must exercise caution since ODD-like behaviors are present in all children.

Excellent.

Understanding what a parent can control and what they can't manage will enable them to seek assistance for the things they can't.

Informative and helpful book

Although I should have purchased this book when my child was smaller, it's better to get it now than never. Understanding him and knowing how to help him and ourselves have been made so much easier thanks to this book.

Straightforward

This book improved my comprehension of the diagnosis and my ability to parent my daughter. Most significantly, it provided me with new disciplinary tools that I had not considered. However, I haven't needed to use the advice offered too often. Now is the time to reread the book. That alone is really important because I know it will work.
