Definitely a must read for any parent.

I’m a FTM and felt so overwhelmed before finding this book. Something about this book validated all of my emotions. The good and bad but made me understand it’s okay to feel this way and how to cope. A lot of the things I already knew but hearing it from someone else that is not related to you. Or someone you know in a way calms you. I definitely will be re-listening to whenever I am feeling stressed and recommend this to any parent no matter what stage your child is in.

Therapy for parents

This audiobook takes the useful perspective that it is the parents who are the problem, not the kids. Yet this anger does not define who the parents are. This audiobook encourages parents to understand their own triggers, or the mechanisms of their own anger, which has something to do with the parents' upbringing and treatment by their own parents. Now having children of their own, the parents make it worse for the children and hurt the children by projecting their own frustrations and not properly understanding their children's anger. Also provided are checklists and routines parents can implement to help themselves, so they can help their children.

Awesome !!

This is a must-listen for any new parents who sometimes feel overwhelmed and want to learn how to control better their emotions. I loved this guide for being realistic and talking about emotional triggers, while always giving advice to understand our own and our children’s emotions. I felt like this book did not shame us, as parents, for getting frustrated or yelling, instead, the author tried to teach us how manage and use our anger wisely and for the benefits of our children(s). If you sometime feel the need to control your emotions better when facing issues and want to raise your kids as best as you can, this book is for you.

That is so me!

I, along with many other mothers have gotten to the point of yelling at our children or saying something that shouldn't have. Speaking for myself, I saw myself in this book. I do get upset with my kids sometimes. I am only human. Listening to this title, it was clear that my anger stems from a generation of old-school radical discipline practices. I do not practice what my parents or grandparents did. However, that anger was passed down. This book demonstrates way anger can manifests itself in various ways in a parent-child relationship and ways to break the vicious cycle. This is a great book that's packed with some hard truths. If you've had enough of raging, please get this book.
