About this listen

The Second American Civil War Reaches a Boiling Point

In New Hampshire, the struggle for freedom is at a crescendo as the forces of Newmerica seek to wipe out The Defiance resistance in the north once and for all. Their only hope is a daring assault in upstate New York. The fate of New Hampshire teeters in the balance as both forces commit to an epic last stand for freedom.

Along the western Texas border, the forces of Newmerica throw their Veteran Corps into battle and strike deep into the Lone Star state, threatening to derail an American offensive into New Mexico and beyond.

In the middle of the chaos, a daring rescue has been launched to liberate a social quarantine death camp far behind enemy lines.

The totalitarian Newmerica regime will stop at nothing to eradicate the American cause, be it assassination attempts or other nefarious means. The price of freedom has always been high, and it comes only by crushing the Patrons of Terror.

Ripped from the darker side of today’s headlines, Blaine Pardoe’s Blue Dawn series starts with the progressive overthrow of the government and covers the second American Civil War in a way that only a gifted military historian can.

I look forward to more.

I feel this is the weakest of the series to date. The performance has the usual issues. Mispronounciation, repeated lines, and a few sections where the recording must have been done in different locations. The developments weren't uninteresting, just seems like some of the momentum of the earlier books was waning. I remain excited for more, and overall it was still enjoyable.

will be looking forward to the next book

performance is better than last time but still could use work. Voices for some of the characters were similar enough it was hard to tell which character was speaking. The story was good with the highlight being Darius' story and his character arc.

Thrilling and terrifying!

Blaine L. Pardoe out does himself, again! Every book in this series is better than the last. Patrons of Terror has it all: new characters, raids, espionage, desperate defenses, assassinations, daring escapes, political maneuvering, inhuman cruelties, and thrilling- terrifying heroics.

The Civil War ramps up and gets very ugly!

This series has been interesting and intriguing to read. I can’t help but wonder if these events might actually haven taken place if national events went a different direction in 2020. Still love the characters and storylines. Seeing some turn against the criminals in ‘The District’ paves the way for many new possibilities for characters old and new.
Highly recommend this series!!

Beyond great addition to the series!

I am truly impressed with the fact that every new book in this series packs a punch! It will be interesting to see how Darius' character fleshes out in the future (personally know too many people like him and Raul).
