About this listen

Down and dirty....

Faced with a choice between bad-boy detective Dean Ryker and sexy power player Parker Anderson, Sage Reece fought the law - and the law won. But while Ryker's sizzling touch may rule her nights, Sage's days belong to Parker's cool, calculating intensity....

Both Ryker and Parker are determined to protect Sage from a brutal enemy who'd use her to pay for their mistakes. Yet when the usually on-point Ryker is distracted by ghosts from his past, Parker seizes his opportunity to get Sage's attention - and keep it in ways beyond her wildest dreams.

Now, caught between a mobster out for revenge and two men who were once best friends, Sage must play to win - even if it means getting dirty....

Why can't she have both?

I really wanted to hate this book.

I mean,
The heroine screams all the time,
Never stands up for herself,
Gets beat up by people a lot... AND
Is in constant need of rescuing.

Yet, I found myself drawn into the story (AND LIKING IT) even though the heroine isn't spunky enough.

This is book two of the Risky Business series. Two former best friends, who were in love with a woman who "supposedly" (I say supposed because I am not convince the lying manipulating harridan is actually dead). a woman who took her own life because she could not stand to come between the two friends. Ryker, a police detective, and hot as hell is the second man on the scene, but the one who gets Sage. Parker, an investment banker is also super hot but has failed to return her affection so far.

In this installment, we see the bad guy from the first book come back to hurt Parker and Sage. In the mean time, Ryker goes undercover and finds out his partner is on the take, which places them all at risk. Sage finally gets a taste (YUM) of Parker.

Initially I wanted Ryker to be her man, but after finding out that her father is a bad ass, I find myself asking, why not both? Both men are swoon worthy, and very good in bed. Why should she choose? Parker can be a bit of a flake, but Ryker definitely has his moments...

I am angry that I have to wait five months to find out if she will develop as a leading character who can save the men she loves instead of having them save her. I do hope that Sage will grow a pair and eventually solve the issue--to my satisfaction.

Like I said, I didn't want to like this book, but I was drawn in. I hope this helps you decide that you must invest a credit. It is certainly swoon worthy!

WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!

What a delicious book!!!!! Talk about a love triangle, my gosh. This isn't a spoiler, but, I really hope Sage gets a clue; I can't take another cliffhanger! This book had it all. Great narrator, a thrilling and suspenseful storyline, and seriously H-O-T sexiness. I enjoyed book 1, but, book 2 was ten times better. Excellent, and credit worthy for sure.

indecisive!

What did you like best about Playing Dirty? What did you like least?

I don't know if I can stand another book with this much indecisiveness! One person that gets into this many situations and has this many encounters with two men is a bit much. The story was good in the first and with a few fast forwards I got through the second book. Not sure I'm willing to sit through 10 plus hours of the same old, same old for the next and hopefully last book. Too much wishy washy feelings going on!

What was most disappointing about Tiffany Snow’s story?

Saige not being able to make up her mind. Drove me crazy! Pick one guy already

What about Laura Hopatcong’s performance did you like?

She did good with voice recognition. I usually knew which character was speaking.

Was Playing Dirty worth the listening time?

Most of it. A little unrealistic. When you get burned you don't just jump into to bed for sex especially when your hand is damaged.

Any additional comments?

Why three books? Looks like an attempt to make more money. I could stand most of the bulls**t if she could choose one guy and stay with her choice. This switching back and forth all the way through both the first and second books got on my nerves.

Mild Disappointment

This is not one of Tiffany's better books. The mystery and story line was some what boring and I found myself skipping some parts especially in the beginning. This was not what I thought it would be.

Getting old

The confused and helpless heroine lost in a love triangle of her own making story is old and overplayed. The fact that it appears two fold throughout this entire book makes the read nauseatingly predictable. I rolled my eyes quite a bit in this book.

The First was Better

Where does Playing Dirty rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Down towards the bottom.

What other book might you compare Playing Dirty to and why?

The first in the series/

Which character – as performed by Laura Hopatcong – was your favorite?

I have begun to hate her voice. There is some tin to it and I don't like her men voices. I am putting her on my I don't listen to llist.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Don't do it.

Any additional comments?

I hate the books that you have to have the next book so that you learn an ending. I doubt I will buy the third since enough is enough.
