All over the place

The story went a million places to end in 30 seconds. Very disappointing and unlike the early scarpetta novels.

how bad the reader was

I love her books but I did not like the lady that read this book. She isn't anything like the others and is really kills the book for me. I wish I could find someone else the does audio on in.

A little confusing but good.

I had trouble following this one. I love Patricia Cornwell. And I love her Kay Scarpetta series most of all but I feel like I need to listen to it again just to see was I just not following it or was it the way it was written. But my initial reaction is that this one was hard to keep everything straight.

Finally!

I have not enjoyed the audio versions of the first books in the series because of the narrator, but this book - this is the narrator the series needed from the beginning! Plot was great and just the right number of twists!

Good but too much

This was much better than book 13, but it got a little overwhelming with twists and turns. This is probably the creepiest of the series thus far, and it goes overboard. Too much.

These books are morphing into meladramas...

Scarpetta novels used to be straightforward and forensic-heavy. Now they are convoluted and emotion-based. This story was so confusing and everyone was angry all the time. It could have been really good if the writer could just stick with the premise and solve the crime. The plot was great but the delivery was ridiculous. Narration was good tho.

excellent

Classic Cornwell. Intelligently written. Detailed character development. Another superb plot with a clever twist at the end.

Impactful.

Patricia Cornwell has a skill to wrap so many ongoing storylines with multiple characters. To take you on a fast track through the process of crime solving techniques better than any current crime drama on television.
