Publisher's summary

Preppy finds himself back in a world he once loved, but no longer recognizes. His dim smile can't hide his inner turmoil and the people he views as family all suddenly feel like polite strangers.

Except for one person. A girl with dark eyes and even darker hair.

A girl who isn't even an option.

At least, not anymore.

Dre can't decide who she's going to listen to. Her heart, her head, or her body. Because two out of those three things have her heading right back to Logan's Beach. Closure is what she tells herself she's seeking, but when she unlocks doors that were never meant to be opened she soon discovers that when it comes to Samuel Clearwater, closure might never be an option.

This is book six in the King Series and the second part of Preppy and Dre's story.

Preppy's Back.....

.....but he has a long road, and journey ahead of himself while he comes to terms with what was done to him, and everything he missed out on while he was gone. Preppy is such a complex character, it's actually going to take three books to tell his whole story. In book two, there's heartache, secrets, pain, sadness, and as he deals with everything, he tries to push everyone away, but his close friends King, Pup, Bear, Dre and others, will not give up on him, or allow him to give up on himself. I missed the old carefree, fun-loving character we've come to love, but as the story progresses we see more of the old Preppy. There are a few surprises, a WTF cliffhanger that will take you by surprise, but I'm anxiously waiting for book three to be released in audio.

Lance and Kirsten both did a outstanding job with the narration. Lance does such an amazing job with Preppy's character. I love it!

For those who have not started the King series, I highly recommend the whole series! (that goes for you too T.H. I know you will love this one...just try it!)

Preppy and Dre- I am in love!!

Loving every minute of Preppy and Dre. Wish this wasn't split into 3 books- definitely could've been done in 2 books, but heck I should not be complaining....I should be hoping we get a book 4.

more of Preppy and Dre

Preppy is back and more serious than every! Preppy struggles to forget the horrors of his captivity while his friends push him to talk about what happened so he can heal; but the only calm Preppy can find is with Dre. Just when I think Preppy and Dre have reached their happily ever after, TM Frazier goes and throws a wrench in the plans leaving me with a cliffhanger that has me biting my nails in a WTF fashion!

Lance Greenfield and Kirsten Leigh did another amazing job of bringing these two characters to life in all their struggling glory!

OH holy moly!

Where does Preppy: The Life and Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part 2 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's up there in my top picks. I FLOVE Preppy and Lance Greenfield does an amazing job at bringing him to life. Dre wouldn't be Dre without Kirsten Leigh.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Preppy...always. Because of his dichotomous nature. Plus he's so outrageous and funny.

Have you listened to any of Lance Greenfield and Kirsten Leigh ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Preppy Part 1. It's just as amazebawls.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

OH gosh...without giving anything away...most of Preppy's parts. He's dealing with a lot in this book and his adjustment is far from easy.

Any additional comments?

BUY the audiobook. GAH! Just do. *sigh*

Great, but not quite as good as her first 4 books

Would you consider the audio edition of Preppy: The Life and Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part 2 to be better than the print version?

Yes- because duh audio is always better :) that's if there are good narrators, which this one has

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character was Preppy of course

Have you listened to any of Lance Greenfield and Kirsten Leigh ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have, and though I still don't like Lance for Preppy, he is a great narrator and I enjoy listening to him. Kirsten is great also and did a good Dre

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

the only extreme in this one is that I was extremely disappointed with the explanation of why Preppy's friends heard his voice while he was captured. No deep revalation, just "I went to a place deep in my mind" and that was it. That was supposed to satisfy our morbid curiosity as to how he could help guide Tia, or talk to everyone else. He was deep in his mind and has no memory of talking to anyone. I was very unhappy with this explanation :(

Any additional comments?

I was not "hooked" on this book until the last chapter. I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong. But I think there was way too much hype and too high of expectations for the Preppy trilogy. Yes I want to hear his story, but it's not nearly as entertaining, or captivating as King, Tyrant, Lawless, and Soulless. I could not listen to this books fast enough. I guess this one just has too many feelings and not enough excitement. Until the last chapter that is. And it's a good thing she through a twist in there at the end or I might not have listened to book 3. So far Preppy's story is my least favorite, and I had high high hopes for it. I thought he would be my fave.

LOVE Preppy!!!!

What can I say that hasn't already been said about this book?? It's part 2 of Preppy and Dre's story and this was all about Preppy's healing from his tortured captivity!!! I loved that the connection between Preppy and Dre was still smouldering !! These two just do dirty and HOTTTT so well!!! I cannot wait for the final book but yet, I don't want this phenomenal series to end!!! 5+ Bowtie stars!!!
