About this listen

There were two brothers - identical twins - and though I loved them both, my soul belonged to only one.

Annalia Del Valle has loved Preston Sawyer all her life. The daughter of an impoverished migrant farmworker, she grew up as an outcast in what was no more than a tiny, cooped-up shack in California's Central Valley. But her heart found freedom in the land, in the wide-open spaces of Sawyer Farm, and in the boys who were her only friends.

Preston has yearned for Annalia since he was a boy. But a sense of honor kept him from pursuing her until he's unable to hold back any longer and their worlds - and bodies - collide one hot summer night. A night that sets off a chain of events that will alter their lives forever.

Now Annalia is back in town after disappearing without a trace for six long months. Determined to reclaim her heart, her life, and the baby she left behind - the son who was created in a moment of lust and love and pent-up yearning.

Preston has survived grief, a ravaging drought, and the despair of heartache, but he's not sure he can survive Annalia again. And he might be unwilling to try. Will pride and bitterness keep him from the one thing he's always longed for?

How do you heal what is irreparably broken? How do you forgive that which is unforgivable? How do you discover that real honor comes not from circumstance, but from the place deep in our hearts where truth resides? And how do you move beyond the wounds of the past to discover that some loves are as solid as the ground beneath your feet, and as enduring as the earth itself?

This is a stand-alone Sign of Love novel, inspired by Gemini. New adult contemporary romance. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for listeners under the age of 18.

female voice

heard most of the Mia Sheridan's book but female narrator was horrible. Man perfect, but female...I wanted to skip the chapters but that wouldn't help me to understand the story. Smh

Emotional but so good

I loved this story. There was angst, and heartache, and so much emotion. This is a story about love and honor, and so many misunderstandings. By the end I had shed tears, exchanged anger for understanding, and smiled with satisfaction.
JF Harding and Mercedes Moreno are not the usual narrators I listen to and I was not disappointed. Their performances were fresh and new, and a delightful listening experience.

Great Story by Mia Sheridan

What was my favorite part of the story? I loved it when Annaila finally tell Preston at the party she wants him not his brother. After screaming at the characters for so long to please get out of their internal dialogue and tell people what you feel you finally get a little bit of truth telling in that scene.

What was something that could be improved? I really wasn’t a fan of the female narrator. Her casting was off point. She sounded like a 10-12 year old girl through out her characters life span as well as she read very fast pace, like she was in a hurry. The male narrator was great in his male storytelling but his alternative voices for women were off point and the 40’s something parents sounded 75 with shaky voices? I did overall enjoy his chapters much more than the female narrator.

Overall comments: Mia Sheridan is an amazing story teller and this story doesn’t fall short. I am a new fan and am addicted to her stories. This is part of a series but is totally stand-alone. The story is what I called a life span saga. Where the characters go from very young age and you join them in the journey thorough out life. The two H/H characters do a lot of internal dialogue and I found myself frustrated at points with them for causing themselves years of pain for not speaking up for their true feelings. You know the characters you continue to wonder about at the end of a great book well that’s the H/H. Throughout the story these two find much tragedy, sadness and missed opportunities but eventually find each other for a very sweet romantic love story with a HEA!

There are a few triggers for some I should mention rape involving pregnancy resulting in a child. Death of sibling., Death of a parent, classisms as well as clear racism, and bullying to the heroine. Even though these topics are addressed and maybe trigger the author treats them with much respect and research showing the characters in real life situations.

Overall rating: storyline and characters amazing 5 star plus!

Overall narration: I would say the cast wasn’t suited for this story in that the immature sound of the female narrator was super fast and sounded very young in all stages of her characters life. She would be great for YA novels. Her voice is pleasant and eventually I got used to her fast speed of reading. The male narrator was great as Preston but he did no work on development of his alternative characters. They are flat with nothing closed to their description in the book. He was a very good Preston and for that I give him high marks. Overall three stars for narration. ( I say all this as only a fan, I could never do a better job myself in narration and don’t pretend I could this is just my opinion and I think the biggest problem wasn’t the narrators but was casting of these characters was poorly done)

Overall story rating: absolutely loved this family saga. With frustration, sadness, love and redemption Mia Sheridan does a great job. This is one of the books that leaves you satisfied with a well rounded and HEA ending. I am a huge fan and highly recommend this book!

Preston, the Shy Farm Boy

A very sweet story about 3 kids who always gravitated toward each other as children and about their lives as they became teenagers. It was hard to listen to but too true to what may reallly happen! How many mistakes we make becoming teens and trying to think what was meant by something said or done. Wonderful ending but painful in getting there. Narrator was very good.

Beautifully Done

This was one of Mia's best works, Archer's Voice still is #1, but Preston and Annalia were
very interesting, very hard to put this one down! I also really liked Stinger - she has others that capture me but those are my top picks.

Preston and Annalia assume nothing and take the world on their shoulders. So much the
same and so star-crossed. I've been stunned more in the last few years at the prejudice and stereotypes that still exist and I believe it - Mia never gets too heavy handed. Absolutely love it and the realism she manages to project into it. Just like Archer, I believe it and am enthralled by the plot. Mia knows how to bring you into their world and touches your heart with their voices - Thank you Mia, for your special corner in the world of Romance and HEA! LOVE THAT I am, as always awaiting your next installment!

Raw, real, heartbreaking, happy ending

This isn’t my usual listen, I listen to raunchy love or thrillers. This was a sad, raw, real heartbreaking story. I was in love with both characters and understood both sides. The narration took a little for me to get use to if the females voice but in the end I liked her. This author is a good one folks!

Heartwarming and Heartwrenching

I love that Mia Sheridan's characters are flawed people not necessarily good or bad, jut people who make mistakes. Well actually, there was at least one bad person, Alicia. This is a very touching story of two brothers who love a girl but in different ways since they were children but how the love manifests has repercussions that affect all of their lives. Mia and Preston have a lot to overcome to have the relationship they've wanted since childhood. The one theme throughout the story is that love, understanding and forgiveness can heal many broken relationships -- and there were plenty of broken relationships to deal with in the book.

Amazing narration -- I couldn't stop listening until the end.

Absolutely worth a credit and maybe a cry too.

incredible

how is it this author could always find new ways to find love! there is no other author that makes me feel so much love and hope.

Mia take the heart wrenching story of a descendent of an immigrant and shows how she experiences the hard ships of life and the unconditional love of the twins.

I teared up hard. Please continue to write beautifully.
