About this listen

Senator Meredith Mitchell has been groomed from young adulthood for a future run for president, and as scion of a political dynasty, every public and private move she makes is carefully calculated. But Meredith’s focus on the right causes, the right people, and the right timing evaporates when she meets Stevie Palmer, a dashing public defender with a hard knock past.

A firebrand like Stevie is the last person she should be associating with, especially when Meredith's political future turns into right now, and her party urges her to enter the presidential race. Attorney Stevie Palmer refuses to be limited by the low expectations of others or by taking the politically safe route.

Cautious, media-perfect presidential candidate Meredith Mitchell is the last woman she expected to fall for, but Stevie has never hesitated to pursue her passions. When her client reveals a Mitchell family scandal that could derail Meredith's career, everything Meredith and Stevie value hangs in the balance, including Meredith's shot at the presidency and their chance at love.

Disappointing for a Carsen Taite book **Spoiler**

I been rocking with CT for a long time and I usually love her stuff. It was a decent book but there were just too many things wrong for me. The story had great promise and I was all on board but the characters fizzled out. They had awesome chemistry throughout the entire book, but one sex scene :( And then the anticlimactic ending :( :( I expected more, seemed a little rushed and a cop out really. The narration was decent but I couldn't imagine the both of these highly intelligent, beautiful sounding, fierce acting sounding like somewhat airhead at times. I think the pitch is what through me for a loop. Like I said, decent book, but I wanted more! As a loyal fan, I'll keep on with the keep on!

You Can Have it All

Originally drawn to this novel because of the potential scandal in DC. I was disappointed to see how much political talk there was going on and not enough going on between the characters personal lives. I felt as though I was watching CNN with small glimpses of their personal business. That being said, I was happy with how the book turned out. I was literally biting my lip hoping that Meredith and Stevie would be able to put aside their differences and come together as a couple. Ecstatic that Meredith became the first female president, part of me had hoped that she would have quit the campaign just so she could have her love life with Stevie, but I was satisfied with how it the author had them come together at the destination of their first date.

Loved it but not the ending.

It was an amazing story. Although not an original story line, the way it unfolded kept it interesting and guessing. I was really disappointed with the ending. a private moment would have been more intimate and belivable. They wanted their relationship to be a balance and yet the finanal seen was all but. With this ending, I hope to read a sequel. Thank you for another great story and moments to be somewhere different and exciting for a time.

Give it a listen

Not to bad for a political romance, I did enjoy Meredith and Stevie getting to know each other and if only this storyline could come true o what a wonderful world we would live in. I do agree with other reviews that the ending felt rushed and I didn’t feel that the story was compete I felt that I needed more however I do enjoy reading this author and will continue reading her books. If your looking for an escape from all the mess that we live in I’m totally gonna give my recommendation on this one

narrator

The way stevie was read was like a high pitched robot. was hard to take. I should have read the book instead. For a defense attorney she was written as a dumb blonde.

It is nice to dream

Loved this book, loved the characters, they were interesting and well developed. Loved the theme it is great to dream of a lesbian POTUS. I would like to have a second part to this book could be interesting.
Narration as always with Paige McKinney was excellent, even if stevey’s voice was a little too high for my test.

Very good story!

This was a very good story! The plot development was well thought out, the main characters had chemistry off the charts and the narration was excellent!

I'm going to try to read the book instead.

I wanted to like this one, especially living around DC, but the narration was really rough. I'm not saying you have to be an amazing voice actor to be able to read an audiobook but some level of ability to read/speak naturally and not add an upward inflection to 90% or the sentences with nary a question mark in site. The other times is almost like listening to a matter-of-fact documentary. There's no natural emotion in the reading. I'm not meaning this to be harsh as, I know I do not have the skills to narrate for a living, just wanted to share my experience with this audiobook.
