About this listen

Twenty-three intelligent species. One ancient mystery. And two humans thrust into the middle.

Daniel Rice hasn't felt right since his return from a dystopian future. Curious dreams repeat with detailed precision. A voice—or something—seems to be calling him. His problem isn't medical, it's not even scientific, and it's driving his wife crazy.

Nala is worried, and she's not the type to pace the halls while her overly analytic husband procrastinates. Earth's scientific power couple is soon halfway around the world to consult with alien android, Aastazin. Zin is no doctor, but he has friends in high places.

Next stop, a thousand light years from home where an alien megacity shaped in a six-petaled flower hosts species from dozens of worlds. But there is more going on at this gathering place than meets the eye—aggressive security bots, an ancient mystery, and a pending vote that could shun humanity from the greatest collection of civilizations the galaxy has ever known.

I officially have a new favorite author! I just binged the Quantum series last week and was really hoping his other works would be as good and so far I’m blown away! I’m having trouble finding the words to describe the way these stories tickle my brain! My imagination runs rampant with the possibilities in the science.

Another great one!!

I loved the change of science to story in this 4th part of the saga.

Science leads to a great story

I could read and listen to Douglas Phillips books all day, long every day, and this one is no exception. The only thing I would like to say is the narration was just not good enough. A man should have narrated this in my opinion, this narrators voice just didn’t fit the story.

Another terrific story by this writer

I enjoyed this story. Another excellent job in performance and writing. Looking forward to the next book.

Feel good side story

Author has good chops for real world terminology and use of physics. Does not get too deep into useless side story arcs like most others.

Originality of the 1st contact mythology.

Not just another sequel, this was an excellent story of what our future could be.

Another great time travel/space travel wonder.

As book 4, story continues to be a good one. The narrators continue to provide accents for everyone and every nationality except for Nala, who is written as a Caribbean (Haitian?) doctor. The omission stands out in comparison to all of the other accents that are done.

Solid story, decent narration

A good listen with excellent characters throughout! Solid storyline. True science based fiction makes the story believable and educational.

Another great work in the series!
