About this listen

As a former Navy SEAL turned cop, Joe Quinn has seen the face of evil and knows just how deadly it can be. When he first met Eve Duncan, he never expected to fall in love with a woman whose life would be defined by her dual desires to bring home her missing daughter and discover the truth behind her disappearance - no matter how devastating. With the help of CIA agent Catherine Ling, they make a shocking discovery that sheds new light on young Bonnie’s abduction and puts Quinn squarely in the crosshairs of danger. Eve’s first love, John Gallo, a soldier supposedly killed in the line of duty, is very much alive - and very much a threat.

Emotionally charged, with one shock after another, Quinn reveals the electricity of Joe and Eve’s first connection, and how they fell in love in the midst of haunting tragedy. As their search takes them deeper and deeper into a web of murder and madness, Joe and Eve must confront their most primal fears... and test their resolve to uncover the ultimate bone-chilling truth.

In this book I can now see how the man has become the way he was. In previous books I thought he wanted to control Eve. The man is much more then that. Loved the book and can hardly wait for Bonnie.

I finally like Joe

Joe Quinn, I think every woman dreams about having a man like this. Iris, is he based on someone you know? I was swept up in the emotion of the story and the love that blossomed. I was right there, I could smell the scents of the forrest and swamp. It was as if I was a fly on the proverbial wall. Iris Johansen you have kept me enthralled.

What a man.

Still a fan and no doubt I will pick up and listen to the next Eve Duncan installment but, sigh..... getting just a bit cheesy. Time to wrap the Bonnie angle and evolve before Eve and Joe become unbelievable, even for fictional characters.

Will it ever end?

Love this tragic wonderful storyline. Have to read in order! I'm always anxious for the next book.

Love the Eve Duncan series!

The story was fine but I couldn't finish listening to the book because the reading was so melodramatic. No one, even an emotionally stretched individual is that melodramatic with every word they say. I finally gave up. If I finish the book I'll read it, not listen to it.

Another narrator please

I don't think that too many readers will like this ending. I am not sure I will even read the next book. Disappointed.

Bait and Switch

This a another good book in the series but it has very little to do with Quinn. It's not like the book "Eve" which chronicled Eve's life. Jennifer Van Dyck always does a great job narrating.

Good story but its not about "Quinn"

I was enjoying the storyline right up to the end, then "bam" it ended so abruptly that it made my head spin. There doesn't seem to be a end to this story line. Now I have to read "Bonnie."

Story quite interesting.

This was my first Iris Johansen novel. It held my attention all the way through until the end. And then...I was left hanging. So many unanswered questions. I was shocked! I had to go back and listen to the end again because I could not believe anyone would end such a wonderful and exciting story as Quinn this way. I don't know if this is the author's style, but this will be the last Iris Johansen book I will be purchasing.

What a Disappointment!

I have been a long time fan of Iris Johannsen and I found this book difficult to finish. Many elements to her stories are just too far fetched and redundant.
