About this listen

Despite being a mainstream, socially acceptable drug, alcohol is the most insidious and dangerous drug on the planet. Even "good drinkers", who can "handle their booze", are steadily plunged into depression and decay long after the party is over. So why do they continue to drink, even unto their deaths?

Quit Alcohol examines the root cause of alcohol addiction, explains why it's so difficult to quit conventionally, and opens a new door to give you an escape route. No matter who you are, how much you drink, or what program you belong to, if you need to regain control of your life, the system in Quit Alcohol will arm you with one of the most valuable tools you'll ever have.

All of it the author seem to cut to the chase, and it was a quick and easy listen. The author spins a new perspective on why we continue to drink. And offers Waze that I haven’t heard before to curtail that and regain control.

A different perspective on quitting than any other book or audiobook I have read.

Just about everybody I know has either had problems with alcohol addiction or at least been close to someone who had similar struggles, be they with alcohol, illegal drugs, smoking, or over-eating (just to name a few). In a sense, the advice given in this book can be applied, with some modifications, to those other addictions as well.

I would say that what makes this book especially compelling is the excellent narration. David Van Der Molen is able to sound serious and urgent without lapsing into a heckling or superior tone or manner, so that he creates a strong impression of being genuinely concerned about putting across the author's message and instructions.

Well worth an hour of one's time -- and maybe even a life-saver for those who may be struggling with their addition.

Concise -- and compelling as well!

Very good quick listen straight and to the point. Awesome notes about the ego that can control a person’s action.
