About this listen

A beautiful lesbian romance about wants, love, family, and duty, asking when is the right time to live our own life and dreams.

English police constable Molly Blue is devastated when an assault forces her to endure weeks of therapy and disrupts her promising career. The cute physiotherapist getting her back on her feet is an intriguing distraction at least.

Physiotherapist Kudzi Mufaro is a bold, confident woman in every area of her life except one. She hasn't told her Zimbabwean parents she's gay. That probably explains the parade of men her family keeps trotting past her nose. Is it time to finally be honest?

But when Molly takes a visit home, it rocks her to the core. She is forced to decide whether to stay and look after her sister or not. It would mean giving up her career and any hope of something more with Kudzi.

Contains mature themes.

Molly is out and Proud. Kudzi is very closeted, except with her sister, brother in-law and a few friends. Molly doesn't want to have a closeted relationship, and Kudzi is adamant about not coming out to her family. They break up With Kudzi sister Cat becoming pregnant, it opens her eyes and she does come out to her family finally. Thank goodness for Lucy tricking them separately in visiting a new cafe, so they can talk, as they are both miserable and ticked off with each other at the same time. After they talk, they become official GFs. Although they love each other the actual words don't get spoken out loud for a year of being together.

Narration wasn't the best and I almost stopped listening, but glad I kept going.

Never Be Afraid to Speak your Truth

The narrator is great with the English accent parts and telling the story. I really wanted to get into this book but couldn't and had to quit at chapter 5. The narrator does a South Asian (Indian) ish accent for the ZIMBABWEAN. I've never been to Zimbabwe but that accent was no where near the African continent and let me tell you, it irked me! I love lesfic that include mixed couples especially of different backgrounds. However, if the narrator can't do the accent right (which is fine, I can't do it either) just don't attempt. Speak with your natural language we'll follow. Honestly, it's terrible.

The story was also meh! I'll definitely give the author and narrator another try but not with this book. The narrator is strong with purely English books.

I had to stop
