Publisher's summary

What happens when a misanthrope meets the one person she doesn't want to be without?

Reese Walker doesn't like people. What she likes is silence and being left alone. The thing she loves most about recording audiobooks is that she doesn't have to leave her Chicago apartment to do it. And she hasn't for nearly a year. But with an unavoidable bill going to collections that puts her sister's treatment at risk, she has no choice but to take a job that pushes her out of her comfort zone.

After a disastrous blow to her career, Arden Abbott needs a comeback. Step one: a successful book launch, including an audiobook. She doesn't trust anyone else to oversee every aspect of the project. Arden knows she's ready to resume the life she had before her dreams fell apart, all she has to do is prove it to everyone around her.

When Reese and Arden meet, sparks fly and then, they combust. Will Reese crack under the constant pressure from Arden? Can she possibly read a sex scene with the woman who wrote it interrupting to correct her pronunciation of words she is saying 100% correctly? Or can they step outside their comfort zones long enough to meet in the middle?

Contains mature themes.

So perfect…

I need to give the world of Twitter a huge thank you for bringing Lucy Bexley to my attention. I loved this book so much. A witty recluse, her equally witty sister, her childhood friend turned colleague, an author, and a lovely but intrusive neighbor all mingle together to make a perfect story. Oh and there is some VERY well written bedroom activity. The audiobook is narrated by the legendary Abby Craden and is pure perfection.

Can a hermit find love 😍

If you need to listen to a very quirky and passionate rom com, while traveling non-stop from Boston to LA, with some adorable secondary characters, voiced by the inimitable Abby Craden, this relatively short book is for you.
The ironic aspect of this story is that one of the main characters is the voice behind the book being written by the other main character, much like Ms. Craden who is the person reading to us.
Confusing? Maybe?
But go along for the ride as a successful author, combats her drinking problem combines with a successful adult romance reader to combat the onset of agoraphobia 😱.
It’s a good story and provides one of the most important things any romance can…. An epilogue!😃

Really good!

I’m not sure what I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised. I was completely into it and it was over before I knew it! Imperfect yet relatable people. So refreshing.
Abby Craden is her wonderful self.

Antisocial narrator meets Perfectionist Author

I absolutely love Abby Craden, she is a star narrator, however not even she can bring what’s not in the writing. I was very excited about this story when I read the summary about a misanthrope who loves her lovely and silent life meeting a perfectionist author who makes her come out of her shell. The book was confusing and I was not able to feel connected to the characters. There is a lot on information thrown in there but very little of that gives depth to the MCs so we can understand and connect with them. I waited until the very last chapter of the book because I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt to the author as it’s the first book I listen from her but unfortunately this book is not for me

Great book. Add it to your library now!

This book was a great slow burn, low angst, with a moderate amount of spice story. It was well written with not your typical MC. Both MCs were suffering from their own set of personal hurdles. It is a HEA must read/listen book.

Great.

I loved Must Love Silence. I loved the emphasis on people being able to say they want to go home and shut their door on the world. Great plot. Abby Craden does an excellent job with the narration.

Lovely!

This was a very lovely story. Two main characters who met by happenstance as a result of their own individual necessities. After spending time together for a while because of work, it turned out that their chemistry was so off the chart that they combusted!

The secondary characters were adorable. Especially Reese’s sister, Lo, and her next door neighbor Judes.

Abby Craden, as usual, was absolutely fabulous!

This was a sweet well done story!
