Publisher's summary

Successful financial analyst Michael Walsh leads a picture-perfect life that anyone would envy - unless they caught a glimpse beneath the surface. Haunted by failed relationships and self-doubt, Michael harbors a soul-deep loneliness that no number of casual hookups can fulfill. So why can’t he stop thinking about his New Year’s fling with a man whose quiet desperation matched his own?

Barista Stewart Jenkins has an abysmal track record with relationships, and no matter how hard he tries to keep things tightly under wraps, his life is spinning out of control. His hookup with the gorgeous Michael was only supposed to be sex - hot, dirty, uncomplicated - but that small taste leaves him yearning for more.

Every no-strings encounter that follows between Michael and Stewart peels away more layers, blurring the lines, until they’re left with a raw tenderness and acceptance they both crave. A relationship seems out of the question - they come from drastically different lives and are plagued by inexcusable sins. Being vulnerable is sure to reveal old wounds, and forgiveness seems out of reach, unless they can find a way around their fears on the road to redemption.

Before this book, I already wanted Michael to get his HEA. I didn't have a great opinion of Stewart but after this book I loved them both and was so happy they got a HEA together. I love that they are so different and it brought out the best in each of them. The story was sweet and sexy.

Michael Pauley wasn't the right choice for this book imho. I will admit I don't normally like his narration for sex scenes but in this one he wasn't over the top with the moaning and groaning. Maybe he is changing.... I hope since that is the only thing I don't like about his work.

Great ending to a great series

Loved, loved, LOVED this book. I loved this series. I want to see all the main characters as they continue to grow as people. I want to see the few other side characters become main characters. I suppose I'll have to use my imagination. I'm sad that it's over, even if I can listen all over again - and I look forward to listening to the entire series again, knowing what I know now about each character, especially Stewart & Michael.
Highly recommend this book - and the whole series.

Loved the story, was better as an ebook for me

The narration was good but something was lost from the original magic of this book for me. maybe I had. other voices in mind for them or it was something else. Michael Pauley is a good narrator and I think his narration of book 1 in this series was great. Here I think I was hoping for another voice to bring them to life.

This book was just wonderful! I enjoyed it so much and was constantly surprised by how good it is (and I was expecting it to be pretty good to begin with). Having read the first two books and not yet made it to book 3, this one (#4) was a bit out of the blue for me as I didn't really knew Stewart's story (from book). And yet, I find it was not an issue at all! I dimly remembered Michael from book 2, and was actually pleased to see his side of the story and get to know him past the controlling douchebag he was there.
What I found in this book are two funny, painfully complex characters who really deserved to have their stories told and to find a relationship that would be healthy for them. The journey they go through is not you'r typical romance- but it makes is that much better to see it unfold slowly.
Michael and Stewart start off as a one time hookup, they keep bumping into each other and discover they have a common past. What started as physical evolves into a friendship and kinship, to an emotional connection you cannot ignore. They are so incredibly erotic together, and they slow build of the emotional side of their relationship moved me. The way they both embrace their faults and past mistakes, grow and show the humanity the other books denied us from seeing. Christina chose a fantastic story to tell within this universe.

I simply adore this series and love how each book has a separate vibe, even though the characters and stories are connected, every book is it's own world. I think this one was so different from the others and that makes it even more unique.
