About this listen

I am not his conquest. I am not his to claim. I am my own castle.”

Freed from the golden clutches of the Sun King, Lor now finds herself in the hands of Nadir, the Aurora Prince. Convinced she’s hiding something, he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make her talk. But Lor knows the value of secrets—she’s been keeping them her entire life—and she’s not letting hers go without a fight.

When Lor and Nadir team up to search for a lost item that holds the key to her past and her future, she isn’t sure if she can trust him. All she knows is she won’t fall for his promises and make the same mistakes again.

Lor also hasn’t forgotten her vow to destroy the Aurora King. As Atlas hunts her across Ouranos, Lor plots to bring down the Imperial Fae who took everything. But she soon realizes that the future of the continent is about so much more than just her shattered legacy.

Rule of the Aurora King is the second book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series and combines romance, intrigue, action, and adventure. If you love enemies to lovers, fated mates, and fake dating, don’t miss this exciting next installment!

Honestly, I’m enamored entrapped enthralled

This book is so f*ing good, such a slow burn but so so good. I randomly picked it because I liked the voice of the narrator and it’s been maybe my favorite book this year. Please read it, so good

"The royal family wears black. Nadir’s companions wear black. But I am not his conquest. I am not his to claim. I’m not part of their royal line. I have my own family. And I am my own fucking castle."

Okay Nisha just wrote another amazing book with Rule of the Aurora King!! The world building continues in this second book and is written so beautifully that it’s easy to read and get wrapped up in the story. I also love some of the throwback chapters we get, learning more about the past.

Even if Lor hates him, I love seeing her and Nadir together as they “fake” their relationship during Frostier. He might be a territorial fae asshole, but I love him and his possessive mmc vibes. The slow burn and tension between these two is heated and when we finally get some spice, it is HOT.

Loved the narrators for this book, it was perfect!

this series just keeps getting better

I'm not saying I didn't like the first book, but I will say that this one is such a great improvement. I think it helped that Lor and Nadir had crazy chemistry, which is saying something because I'm not usually one for enemies to lovers (or lover adjacent?). The problems I had with the last book is that at times it felt silly and the plot sort of dragged to get to the point... or maybe I wasn't a fan of the last Fae king... who was just kind of felt text book villain. This one felt more balance in terms of world building, characters, plot, relationships, pacing. It work on most angles. There was a plot I wasn't too crazy about because it was and instalove relationship and no amount of bond can convince me that instalove is a good trope (so sorry!), However, it helped with the world building so I understood it within the context of the story.

ALLL of this to say, I'm really excited about what happens next. Also, shout out to the narrators! Corvin King because we didn't get a lot of him in the last book so it was just a really great performance. He sold Nadir to me and I'm grateful. This is also my 6-8 book with Soneela Nankani as a narrator so I always enjoy her performance. I think I purposefully read this book because of her.

It was so good.

Pleasantly Surprised

Circe is a character that was hard to get behind, but I’m hooked at this point. This book practically ends in the middle of a sentence.

although this book delves into the past and fae magic more there was zero excitement like during the trials. the FMC became unappealing to me as a strong female. The narrator for the LFC was TERRIBLE. He had a nice deep voice but the way he speaks is just ick. Like he's climaxing at the end of every sentence and I was hard listening to him narrate.

not exciting ad first book
