Publisher's summary

You don't choose the academy. The academy chooses you.

"This book is Harry Potter meets the Hunger Games in a bold twist on a classic magical young adult adventure." (Jaymin Eve, best-selling author of Supernatural Academy

I’ve made it through the Culling Trials, the test that proved my mettle against every possible challenge.

I assumed that meant things would settle down and I’d start truly learning. No more danger. No more death threats. No more wondering who was out to get me. Apparently, that was not to be.

I am what this supernatural world calls a Chameleon - a rarity even amongst all these monsters. And rare things are coveted and feared by the most powerful of all - The House Of Wonder. It’s a good thing I have my crew at my back, because this Academy?

It’s about to get seriously ugly.

Which means this farm girl is ready to play by only one set of rules. Her own.

The Shadowspell Academy books, a six-book series, all end on a cliff-hanger with the exception of book three and book six.

Great series, but ....

Great story and narration. I do recommend it but it should have been two or three books instead of six. $$$$

I want more now

So stinking good! I am so glad this series has been extended. For real I don't know how many books she is planning on doing but this truly could be a 20 plus book series and would never get dull. The timeline just like the first 3 is short just a couple of days, so it's a super fast read/listen. If you get distracted even for just a couple of moments you can miss some vital stuff. I love the ending with the different pov!!

Get next installment of this series!

I loved this continuation of the Shadowspell Academy. This book has a lot of adventure and heart. The directors of the academy try to separate the crew but they are not willing to accept that. They know they are stronger together. Wild is such an awesome character. She is so strong and selfless. I want to believe that Ethan is not as selfish as he seems again. Wild will do all that she can for her crew and not leave anyone behind. Wally, Pete, Gregory are all realizing how strong they are. I want Rory and Wild to be end game but I don't even know now. I loved Wally's POV, you really get to see her strength. The end broke my heart and I really can not wait for the next book in this series. I love Kristine Hvam as a narrator. She is definitely one of my favorites. You can tell which characters is speaking so easily. I love the emotions and heart she puts into the performance, it really helps bring the story to life.

Must listen!

I'm so happy that Shannon Mayer continued with the Shadowspell world. This book was just as fantastic as the first three. There's lots of magic, adventure, and mystery. It left me on the edge of my seat and Kristine Hvam did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life.

Keep them comig

This book picked up where the 3rd book ended. The danger & mystery continues. Every chapter is action packed and before you know it you'll be at the end. Currently desperately waiting for the next book.
Shannon Mayer did an amazing job picking up this series by herself and did not disappoint.

Loved it!!

Ohh I have missed Wild and the gang! I’m so happy that they are back. The book is amazing and the narrator Khristine Hvam does a fabulous job narrating the characters. She uses a wide variety of inflections and voices. It felt like I was alongside the crew the entire time. Highly recommend. Can’t wait for the next installment.

I Love Khristine Hvam! She's got such a great voice!

I am a big fan of Shannon Mayer and this one doesn't disappoint. Looking forward to the next book! This one leaves you on a cliffhanger so you'd need to finish the last 2 books. But it definitely gives a lot of answers to what is happening. Very interesting seeing them in a school trying to figure out the mysteries but also sticking together as a team. And the teenage angst about who is interested in who is so cute. Highly recommended!

I thought the Culling Trials were bad

Wow, so much happened in this little gem I need to come up for air. So much revelations and terrible things I have to read the others soon.

Nothing short of amazing!

It never ceases to amaze me, Shannon is adept at everything she writes, whether young adult, urban fantasy, or paranormal fiction, and this book simply proves it.
Where this series started as a co-op book between her and her author friend KF Breene, Shannon took up the mantle in its entirety with this book and it’s the best book of the series yet!!
I love the group dynamic, I love even more that this dynamic could make or break Wild, everyone is important I’m their own way, a rag tag band of misfits. Colt’s introduction to the group this book was epic and I hope we haven’t seen the last of him. In this book the crew takes on the House of Wonder after a series of attacks leaves everyone shacking up there. As usual you don’t know who to trust crew and professors alike.
This book ended far too quickly for me and I can’t wait for the next to come out.
