About this listen

What is lost can always be found.

Caesar and Anders find themselves on a dangerous quest to save the only man who can bring them home. But Logan Rutherford is sought by others, and whoever reaches him first will harness the power of Arcadia.

Amelia is quickly appointed Chief, yet the role comes with unforeseeable dangers. She soon realizes the town holds dark secrets connected to the Shift, but some secrets are best kept buried.

As the people of Carmichael venture into Arcadia, they encounter survivors who have learned to navigate the treacherous land while their connection to Earth fades into distant memories.

Shelter is the captivating book two of the Lost Town series, blending suspense, science fiction, and adventure from the bestselling author of The Other Place, Lost Contact, and First Life.

Seems stretched out...

I enjoyed the first book. if you like that one you like this one. To me it seems like this could have been better, it drags on a bit .

Consistency in character

Fantastic storyline. This is not over. Everybody standby for the shift. It is time to return to Earth.

Many plot twists, then many more plot twists

I did not mind the plot twists with close to everyone willing and eager to murder everyone in town for the empty promise of a payoff. However, when the previously intelligent, and even ruthless, agents who had not shied away from straight up murder to accomplish their goals suddenly went stupid and timid, allowing the baddie to escape and strand them on Arcadia forever and all they did was scream "turn around slowly and put your hands up" I lost all interest in finishing. The reason was very clear why this happened, to give a reason for another book. Also, be prepared for the author's infamous interludes where the story pauses while the author introduces yet another random character into the story, giving you the new characters life history before merging them into the story. Before the end of the book, there will be so many random characters, it will be a challenge to keep track of them all without taking notes to refer to while listening.
