About this listen

A small town with a big problem.

Caesar, an undercover operative, enters Carmichael with the briefest of orders from his boss and a countdown on his phone. What will happen when the clock strikes zero?

Deputy Amelia Miller is dispatched from a nearby city, and a series of events keeps her around much longer than she'd expected.

In the middle of the night, something shifts, and the whole town disappears off the face of the Earth. Who caused the shift, and what lies beyond the veil of their settlement? As the citizens grow braver, they begin to explore the mysterious borders while resisting the chaos within.

From the bestselling author of The Other Place, Lost Contact, and First Life comes a genre-bending saga. Taken is the thrilling entry into the epic Lost Town series and is full of suspense, science fiction, and adventure.

A fun premise and great ending

I like the story lots of characters and good character development for the most part I think it could have been a little bit more descriptive about what was going on sometimes but it was good. the premise I really liked and they definitely left it open for book two which I'm about to download and start listening to it's rated even higher than this one!
the narrator was good but not the best out there, Ray Porter is still King and I think he would have been a fantastic choice for this. he did a great job with individual character voices although some of them were slightly the same my issue with it was when he was actually reading story it was a little bit monotone. I wouldn't let that stop you from listening to this book it was pretty darn good!

Great book

Loved the story, a fresh change with a difference from so much other sci-fi. Characters were believable and well represented by the narrator.

Good story and solid character development

I personally love world jumping books like Island in the Sea of Time and 1632. This one is a parallel worlds story, which is just as fun, and it takes a whole town and all its dirty laundry and personal dysfunction. It’s well worth your time. Oh, I had one issue. The main beasty was too populous to be sustainable, so be prepared to wave your hands in suspension of disbelief.

Looks like the beginning of another successful series!

one of my favorite writers, although a bit sacrilegious. This story has mystery, interesting characters and a new spin on a familiar premise. Good science fiction and suspense and action.

the loss 0f pkace and time

the movement and the discovery held my interest . not knowing why they ended up in other place and not being able find a way out and wanting to be into there 'real' place and timline. The clock was a sourve of hope, is it real?
