Laugh-out-loud rom-com

I really liked this book. It was short and light, and has me hooked and ready to read the whole series. I laughed out loud at the situations that the main character gets herself in, and her wit is to-die-for. I so envy people with her type of wit. I listened to the Audible audio version of this book, and I enjoyed the narrator. She fit very well with what I pictured of the character. Her reading felt very "genuine." If you enjoy rom-com, or just need something light to make you laugh, you should check out this book.

Adorbs

I wasn't sure how I felt about such a short little audio but I was proven wrong. This book was adorable and for it being as short as it was, I felt completely connected to the characters and the plot.

The narrator was great and perfect for this character. Super quirky and a little lost. I want to finish the series now.

this book is not only good but funny!

If you could sum up Shopping for a Billionaire in three words, what would they be?

brillant, funny, amazing! so worth the read!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Shannon! she is smart, funny, and kind of a klutz. I loved her!

Which scene was your favorite?

Definitely the toilet scene! I was cracking up. though there are many of them.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

sadly i am not sure. but if all the books were together in the movie, it would make a great movie.

Any additional comments?

omg gosh this book had me laughing out loud! I was seating in a Dr, office waiting room reading this, and i am sure people thought i was crazy because i would just start laughing!

its a great light hearted story. and i am actually going to buy my friend this story for her birthday! and i am looking forward to hearing the next story to see what happens!

The narrator was great and she really brought the story life.

Sweet & Hilarious

I’ve heard a lot about this series, so I decided to give it a go. This was a fun and enjoyable story about a secret shopper evaluator and a billionaire meeting in the weirdest of ways. And when I say weirdest, I meant craziest! There were many parts that were hilarious and just made me want to laugh so much. The main character has totally ridiculous thoughts and it’s always fun to listen to the situations that she gets herself into. The narrator did a good job in portraying the characters and keeping us entertained. I found her to be the perfect voice for Shannon. The only thing is, this is not a novella, but only the first part of the story and it ends with a cliffhanger. You have to buy all the other parts to get the full experience, and it would have been better if the author had put them together for the audiobook.

Too short for the cost

Funny enough, just too short for the cost. The story is continued in the next book(s), feels like it's going to cost a fortune for this saga

Sassy Shannon

Shannon Jacoby is a mystery shopper who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty... Well not really afraid. She is a really fun character. I found myself laughing out loud during several parts of this book. I am going to have to read the rest of the series to enjoy more of these characters. Hopefully Chuckles the cat keeps a major role. As a cat lover myself, I enjoyed learning of his attitude.
Tanya Eby captured these characters perfectly. Her performance was flawless.

Shopping for a Billionaire in unusal places

Would you try another book from Julia Kent and/or Tanya Eby?

I loved Tanyas narration and would definitely buy audiobooks narrated by her.

I enjoyed Shopping for a Billionaire, which is part of a serial/series and would read other books written by Julia.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I mostly enjoyed the book as is, the only thing that bothered me was the constant mention of 50 shades. I wish authors kept in mind that not all readers loved or even liked the book.

I want a book and its characters to stand on their own. In every genre there are known tropes, and a Billionaire as a male hero is an old one.

I wanted Julia to make Declan shine on his own.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I would. Its a fun start to a series which has great potential. The key would be to find a talented screenwriter and cast the right actors.

Any additional comments?

I loved Shannon!!! She may come off as immature, but come on, we don't spend all day thinking deep thoughts.

We sometimes act in a silly way or sprout nonsense or in her case, get caught by a man with her hand in a toilet. It got her a Billionaire!! (sort of).

I especially liked the fact Shannon is a working woman who actually works for a living. Many times female characters aren’t shown actually working (just partying 24/7).

Learning about Shannon's work and job requirements helped, IMO, build her character.

I found Shannon's mom to be hilarious and hoping to see more of her in future books.

Plus size witty Barbie meets billionaire Ken

...but she doesn't shop for him directly. Given the title, I thought this book would be similar to Confessions of a Shopaholic. It's not. I should have read the synopsis but I purchased it blindly given its affordable price and lovely narrator.

This is not a complete book. It is part one of the four parts that make up the whole of book one. I enjoyed it. It was fun and light. It is full of pop culture references and colorful characters. It is a good book to pick up in between more intense reads.

Her Internal monologue & no plot whatsoever!

The whole book is about her meeting him in the toilet of a coffee shop & later on a restaurant date. That's it!. All is about her & her internal dialog. The writer makes long dialogs in the girl's head and almost not much of a story. It ends in a cliffhanger. So you have to buy book 2 to know what happens after the restaurant date. I'm done.
In a dif note I must say that I got the audiobook so the narrator was awesome and that's why my rating got some stars!
