About this listen

Sell-spell sorcerers, vampire operatives, killer automatons, and a heist to nab a legendary dragon stone.... It's all in a day's work for Davrick Caliburn.

A bounty hunter with a price on his head, Davrick Caliburn must evade the sorcerous reach of the Grand Imperium. Never mind the fact that his new employer is a vampiric blood-baroness - she's promised him a pocket full of coins and a one-way ticket to freedom. The only problem: That "ticket" is aboard an Imperium battle-train. Between the armored automatons, elite enemy troops, and the fiendish sorcerer who leads them, Davrick can only wonder what kind of a mess he's gotten himself into.

This audiobook brings together all six novellas in the Siege Chronicles series, recounting the high-flying, gun-blazing, spell-blasting adventures of Davrick Caliburn and his misfit mercenary team. Each book is novella-length (three to four hours), but together the stories make up a single, continuous narrative. Please note: These are steampunk action-adventures, set in a secondary fantasy world embroiled in war, and contain fast-paced action and fighting throughout.

  • Book 1: Battle-Train Siege
  • Book 2: Mercenary Siege
  • Book 3: Gearmeister Siege
  • Book 4: Aircruiser Siege
  • Book 5: Blood Mountain Siege
  • Book 6: Demon Realm Siege

Print and e-book editions are also available in a single omnibus edition.

I’ve read over 700 books here on audible. This is the first lengthy review I’ve chosen to write. The story gets lost in the fact that the narrator reads the book like he is ready headlines from the evening news. There is ZERO artistic value to the reading of the story.

Sounds like a bad news report

If you are into fast paced futuristic steampunk action packed reading ,then the SIEGE CHRONICLES:THE COMPLETE SERIES BY MARK WILLIAM CHASE is right up your alley!
Davrick Caliburn, and his two cohorts go from one horrible deadly situation to another in this six book audio series. His companions, Sid Voltelion, and Talyaana Rae make up Davricks group. Hopping from world to world, they are mercenaries for hire. Just when you think Davrick and his friends are goners, well, I wont give that much of the story away!

I took my time listening to SIEGE CHRONICLES as I really did not want to miss a word of it. You get steampunk/humor/swashbuckling adventure. The characters , thanks to the narration of Michael Reimer , grow on you. . I had so much fun and entertainment listening to SIEGE CHRONICLES I didnt want it to end! Dont miss this one folks!

The book was enjoyable, but just missed my niche. It was a little more techno and a little less fantasy/ magic than I would have liked.

I have just finished listening to this story and I loved every minute of it! I love how each book seems to end but the story continues. Such great character development and details. I could picture everything that was happening as if I was listening to a movie. Highly recommend!!

wonderful!

This was a vaguely steampunk themed D&D campaign style story full of action and fun. Not much depth to the story overall but certainly gets the action bits right and it's mostly action bits.

Was going to buy but got a review copy.

It was a struggle to finish this story. The author has a thing for exciting wording and very limited grasp of mechanics. At no point in any of the "books" were the characters involved in a siege. The should have called it Lucky mercenary Chronicles.

Very little here other than combat descriptions. I was impressed that Chase could find ways to describe combat for about 18 hours out of the 19 or so of the book. I prefer a plot of some sort and at least rudimentary character development.

Do you like combat? Then this is for you.

overall I found it to be a very good set of books to listen to. I enjoyed listening to the narrator Michael Reimer as he read through the book. the story is very action-packed and keeps you wondering what's going to happen next. I do wish that some of the characters were fleshed out a little bit more as well as the whole world in general. but for being an action-packed book with a lucky ragtag crew it is very good. it is definitely a fun listen to and I recommend that you definitely give it a whirl. as far as what's in the book it is definitely crazy but fun mix of genres between fantasy and science fiction action and adventure as well as steampunk all wrapped into one series. overall I give it 4 lost hats out of 5.

While I do not think there was one actual siege in the book (Admittedly, Siege Chronicles sounds better than Battle Book) it was a great read.
The characters have motivations and feel well thought out.
The stories are a set of connected missions/jobs which flow one into the other.
This book really makes me want to ask the authour if it was based on a RP game, since all the character actions felt organic and flowed, more than simply being written.

Thankyou for this good quality book!
