About this listen

For 11 years Oakley Farrell has been silent. At the age of five, she stopped talking, and no one seems to know why. Refusing to communicate beyond a few physical actions, Oakley remains in her own little world.

Bullied at school, she has just one friend, Cole Benson. Cole stands by her, refusing to believe that she is not perfect the way she is. Over the years they have developed their own version of a normal friendship. However, will it still work as they start to grow even closer?

When Oakley is forced to face someone from her past, can she hold her secret in any longer?

UK native Natasha Preston grew up in small villages and towns. She discovered her love of writing when she stumbled across an amateur writing site and uploaded her first story and hasn't looked back since. She enjoys writing NA romance, thrillers, gritty YA and the occasional serial killer.

I loved it.

I absolutely loved this book. I am new to this author and both narrators and really enjoyed listening! The story let you know early on what happened to Oakley without divulging all of the details of course. The story of Oakley and Cole was a very sweet one and I looked forward to hearing more. I would have given the ending a thumbs down if not for getting to hear the first chapter of the next book since it leaves you hanging. Overall I loved it and am looking forward to book two.

Narrator

So the male narrator was great but the woman!! SMH.. You can hear her swallow hard and I swear one time she burped under her breath while she was reading!! The story itself is very well written and hits home a bit!

Looked the book.

The book was great, the audio was lacking. I wanted more emotion and actors that sounded younger. Oakley and Cole were supposed to be in high school but they sounded like mature adults. Otherwise, it is a good story.

Excellent plot line

Absolutely loved this story. I wanted to beat Max so badly. How could he do that to his own daughter? How did he justify it to himself?

Poor Oakley and Cole...

Pretty good!

I liked the story but I felt like it was a lot of the same thing through the book about Oakley kissing her boyfriend or her being nervous around him.
I guess there was a little bit missing for me. Not enough “thrill” But I did love the characters. The story line was good.

My favorite book 🤍

I’ve read this book when it was first released and I am listening to the audio now in 2023. Amazing! It’s everything I remember and more!! This is the only book I have read and remember the authors and first and last name lol. This book is truly a 10/10 . From me reading it as a teenager to now being engaged with my first child it still brings me excitement!!!

Good Book 🙂🥰🙂

I have read this book before but I definitely didn’t know anything about The Audible app I loved to read but I stopped reading because it was just because I had a hard time getting thought books because I cannot say the words right or pronounce them right so I stopped reading All together even though reading books are better than watching tv 24/7 plus that you can’t stop listening to the book and you can listen to anything you want or whatever you feel like listening to no matter what else you’re doing . & the best part is that you can always take your book with you no matter where you go & you can always bookmark where you left off in your books & you can always imagine yourself in the story’s that you read which is fun to imagine yourself in a good story to some people that might sound silly but to me it doesn’t at all #I ❤️ to 📖 Read Now
