Amazing book with great ideas

The book was quite insightful, as it taught me how to take a step back and appreciate the beauty of life. However, I believe that incorporating more vibrant voice energy would make it even more engaging and enjoyable to read.

Living Slow as a Mindset

Wonderful book! This book is more focused on the mindset of living slow. Not in a distant location or online store, but exactly where you are in the world and in life. Even living in a downtown core, this book reminds me I can still live slowly. Love it!

Patriarchal Pitfalls: Book Review of Slow Living

Okay, I'm going to be real with everyone. I could not finish this book. Not because it reads like a blog (Which it does) and I'm not saying that there aren't any excellent lessons in this book because I'm sure there are but because it giving "I love the patriarchy but shine it up to be more modern".

Like she talks about feminine energy and masculine energy, but it just so happens that feminine energy is receiving, kicking back and relaxing, while masculine energy is a powerhouse, a go get em' attitude. Like I understand cultural and religious differences and I believe in energies and all that they can do. The big problem is when you are giving a right and wrong way. It's giving "women belong in the kitchen and at home where they can be "feminine"" but without saying the quiet part out loud. It feels very tradwife but without saying it's tradwife.

I believe EVEYONE has to slow down in this always on society, burnout is real and everyone can experience it no matter their gender. The author wrote this book with only women in mind, and with very patriarchical values. And it's not just a one line and done thing there are like at least 2 chapters of it.

In conclusion, I don't blame the author for pushing stereotypes of people as it's a fairly common societal problem. But I don't know if anyone who considers themselves more than just a "traditional feminine woman" will enjoy this book, which is a real shame as it had so much potential.
