Publisher's summary

In business today, there is no offline and there is no downtime. Professionals are both exhausted and depleted. Being constantly tethered to our work through technology makes us overwhelmed and shortsighted, and deprives us of time for meaningful reflection or thoughtful connection to our professional communities, and often even to our own families.

For us to thrive - not simply survive - in this accelerating economy, we need to adopt small, intentional behaviors and practice them each day. From simply taking care of our rest and exercise to building our self-confidence and embracing challenges, author Shawn Hunter's latest book Small Acts of Leadership will guide you through a series of incremental steps you can take to build a stronger version of yourself and make a broader impact in the world. Weaving in personal life stories and meaningful interviews with business leaders around the world, Hunter presents the listener with 12 critical competencies that are consistently present in the daily behaviors of today's most successful leaders.

excellent and practical book on leadership

this is an excellent book on leadership and it is very practical with lots of ideas and implementable Concepts. I have listened to it 4 times now, and have gleaned much from each listen.

The narrator did an excellent job of reading this book. I hope to listen to other books by him.

It’s a nice and concise but meaningful read.

I liked how is was conversational and reachable though the concepts were really far reaching and profound. Easy listening and digesting. Well crafted book.

Good information

There was a lot of good information in this. I do appreciate that, however I did want to go to sleep every time I turned it on.. I bumped the speed to 1.5x. This was not an easy listen or one that taking notes was very simple to deal with. A lot of information seemed to be scattered about haphazardly.

Story driven, slow read

This book is good for leaders looking to get some advice through examples and stories of leaders and companies who have gone before. There’s a few good nuggets for sure, like having a team of 6 is ideal and guiding instead of demanding and influencing/inspiring rather than chastising.

While the narrator’s voice is soothing, I found myself checking out and not staying focused.

Some good stories but jumps around

No clear beginning or end to any story. Leaves you hanging wondering ...and THEN what happened. But goes on to the next story. Frustrating but thats probably why its FREE.
