If a business person goes home frustrated, if they talk with their significant other about it, if they lay awake at night stewing about it, inevitably the problem is some person at work - a colleague, subordinate, or boss. Handling people issues is every leader's major headache. It's what takes up the majority of their time and - more important - the bulk of their head space. These common issues create high turnover and force managers into crisis mode where they're consumed putting out daily fires. Over time, the very nature of the business changes and a new culture emerges; one shaped by the lowest level of acceptable behavior. Beyond the Hammer approaches these concerns in two highly engaging sections.

Passionate and Authentic Leadership
Listening to this book was like having a private training session with Clint. His concepts and the ability to portray them are well organized and easy to understand. He uses life lessons and stories to drive home the concept. As a new nurse manager, I have found a guidebook to help me lead! Can’t wait to apply the principles and hear my team say they love it here!

Must read for anyone interested in leadership
Every now and then I come across a book that I am skeptical about, then get absolutely blown away after reading it. I Love It Here by Clint Pulver is one such book.
This book dives deep into why companies either have good or bad retention rates. The answer is quite simple, if you love it you'll stay. But what creates a culture that allows employees to "love it here"?
Clint created a company called Undercover Millennial to answer that question. I truly believe what Clint does is a game changer as I've seen the impact mentally, physically, and spiritually that wreaks havoc on employees when they don't love it here.
There a plenty of gimmicky books that companies recommend or require their staff to read. Clint is not a gimmick! (which is what I thought at first, sorry 🤣) This book needs to be put in the hands of every mid level manager up through the top bosses of any corporation or business.
Employees: find meaning in what you do, strive to be better, be the change you want to see.
Managers: Show your people recognition, care about the needs of the emploees, be sincere by not faking it till you make it
P.S. if you're into audiobook, Clint read this one himself so it has a personal touch to it

Clint does a great job telling you how to retain employees and why employees leave. as an older manager I am inspired to chage the way I interact with my team. I also had the pleasure of hearing him speak at an insurance captive meeting. He definitely ricked it on the drums also!

A good read
I appreciated and enjoyed this book. Starting it, I was afraid it would go down the dry path of “just another regurgitated management book”, but it did not do that. Having it written in the time where COVID is a regular word in our vocabulary, I believe it gives realistic messages for how to navigate the current world and leading others. I also enjoyed the questions and challenges presented at the end of each chapter and plan to not only answer those myself but also to share with my team for them to participate in as well.
