About this listen

A blizzard, an urgent plea, a desperate journey, and the most important moment of their lives.

Action movie star Peter Erickson is spending the Christmas holidays ensconced with his in-laws and his new husband. In the wilds of Northern British Columbia, they are as far away from the bustle of the city as they can get.

Thomas Walsh and his famous husband are deeply in love. Although he prefers the intimacy of their city house, he's come home to face the reason he left 10 years ago, and to finally tell his parents the truth. A desperate phone call has the couple scrambling. Will they get back to Vancouver in the middle of a snowstorm in time for their solstice surprise?

Solstice Surprise is a beautifully written short story about Peter and Thomas, from Catch a Tiger by the Tail. I loved seeing these two again. Peter and Thomas have quite the journey in this book to get back to Vancouver for the most wonderful surprise of all. It wasn't an easy journey, but it was so worth it. I recommend this book.
Narrator Michael Dean does a fantastic job.

Very Enjoyable

It never cease to amaze me that every book Michael Dean Narrates, it was written for him and him alone. He doesn't always have the opportunity to laugh and I mean that good belly laugh, OMG I fell hard for his laugh the 1st time I heard it.
I'm in love with a voice and his laugh.
💜
BTW I most definitely recommend both books, it's a good story, awesome Narration, and worth the credit/$$

love Michael Dean

First off I had no idea this was a continuation of a previous book by the author when I opened the audible book. I had already fell in love with the characters when I made this discovery. And now will be going back to read or listen to how their relationship began.
Great characters and world building!
This was overall a sweet holiday story. Lots of emotional ups and downs, with a trigger warning of a past sexual assault discussed. If you are looking for a holiday book with a happy ending and some angst don’t pass this up! The journey from the family home to the hospital for birth of a child is harrowing and hilarious.
The audible version has fantastic narration! Well worth a listen.

I loved being able to see the guys after their HEA and the growth they have made. It’s short but super sweet with steam. The narration makes it that much better.

It was good to see where Pete and Thomas's relationship has grown since they met in the first book. They are about to enter the next stage of their marriage and adopt a baby. When the panicked call comes while they are visiting Thomas's parents, they have to find a way to get back home. And quite the adventure that turns out to be! As always Michael Dean is awesome.

A good follow up

I was so excited to see Peter & Thomas again. I really enjoyed them in Catch a Tiger by the Tail and wish I had known about this story sooner.  It was so great to see them settled into married life and expanding their family and I was glad that Thomas now had the courage to start to rebuild his relationship with his family.

Michael Dean did a nice job narrating the story but I personally don’t like over the to voices and I felt that he did that with Thomas at times.

I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review
