I’ve tried so many approaches to ease my anxiety, but this audiobook actually helped me feel a difference. The exercises are short, doable, and surprisingly effective—even just listening to the breathing cues calmed me down. What really stood out was how it explained what was happening in my body without getting too clinical. I’ve started using a few of the practices daily and feel more in tune with myself. Definitely worth a listen if you're healing.

I like how the book includes exercise that can easily fit into my daily routine such as muscle relaxation and breathing exercise. I also found the grounding technique helpful during panic attacks.
I already read many books on somatic therapy, but this is the first one that links it to CBT which I find interesting.

"Somatic Therapy for Trauma" is an interesting audiobook that explains how to release the tension and negative energy that "lives" in your body. According to the author, trauma is a physical experience etched into our muscles, nerves, and other parts that can manifest itself as tension, discomfort and pain. Somatic Therapy uses movement, mindfulness, breathing, and touch to reconnect you to your body, releasing the trapped emotions and relieving the pain. The audiobook includes practical applications and exercises and explains how to incorporate it with other more traditional methods you may be using. A powerful and effective guide for those suffering from the effects of past trauma.

After years of therapy that just felt like talking in circles, this book gave me practical tools I could actually use. The nervous system exercises were a revelation - I went from waking up with jaw pain to finally experiencing what relaxed muscles feel like!
The micropractices fit perfectly into my hectic schedule (even managed to do them during work breaks). Within a month, my sleep improved dramatically, and those intrusive thoughts that used to spiral don't have the same grip anymore.
What really sold me was how it explained the science without being overwhelming. If you're tired of being told to "just breathe" when your body feels like it's in constant fight mode, this approach actually addresses the root issues. Truly life-changing!

The last 10 years have been extremely stressful for me and I've finally come to a place where I know I need to start learning how to deal my trauma in a healthier way. This audiobook walks you through somatic therapy—basically, ways to pay attention to how your body reacts to stress and what to do with that info. The exercises are short and simple, which makes it easier to actually try them. What I liked was that it didn’t ask you to push through or “fix” everything at once. It’s more about slowing down and noticing what’s going on inside, without pressure. I have definitely felt calmer and more grounded so I'm really glad I have this audiobook a shot.

After trying so many things that didn’t help, this audiobook felt like a breath of fresh air. The exercises were short but surprisingly powerful. I could actually feel a shift in my body right away, which never happened with other methods. It made the whole healing process feel a lot more doable and less overwhelming. If you’re tired of feeling stuck, I really recommend giving this a try.
