About this listen

Is it possible that everything you were taught about parenting is wrong? Could there be a better way to relate to your child? Do you want more clarity, peace, effectiveness, energy, and authenticity in your relationship with your child?

Stop Parenting features a series of vital conversations between a struggling helicopter mom and her wise life coach. It's a hybrid memoir-parenting manual, full of humor and wisdom for anyone who is a parent or who has had parents. Kyle Mercer offers a radically different perspective on the typical parent-child dynamic. Debunking harmful beliefs about parenting, he shows Karen Tolchin how and why to transform her relationship with her son. Her journey points the way to everyone hungry for peace in a multitude of relationships, beginning with this most fundamental of connections: the one between parent and child.

Take it with a grain of salt

I think about 5o% of this is solid advice however the other 50% is not something I would follow, from my experience( my grown children ) & me seeing other kids grow . Been scout leaders and club sponsors and a coach . I would often meet and connect with kids that had this type of support seemed to have a lack a sense of wholeness and have tried to cling to adults that give them leadership

the narrator was not a good match

absolutely loved this book and everything it had to say. I found myself directly identifying with the author in many ways. I also think the examples included are helpful and very timely.

My only issue with this audible book is the narration. it's not that the guy is a bad narrator because he's not. it is just too far of a stretch to be a good match though with him doing a falsetto voice for over half the book.

Enlightening

What I like about this book is that despite the title it related to everyone whether you are a parent orI not. The narrator speaks clearly and is easily understood.
This book has many tools and insight that I can apply to my life and my relationship with everyone. Very interesting and informative. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
