About this listen

This action-packed, post-apocalyptic series is now available in a box set of over 1,500 pages!

When civilization collapses, only the strong will survive.

Josh and Maxine Standing’s marriage is circling the drain. But the fractured family of four has never needed each other more than when a supernova EMP strikes Earth and sends humanity back to the Stone Age.

The shrieks of a dying civilization echo all around as they combat the chaos to reach the West Virginian family farm. However, it’s not just a firefight for valuable resources that awaits them when long-festering secrets and betrayals come to light and threaten to permanently tear the Standings apart.

Black and white no longer exist in a post-apocalyptic world swirling with shades of gray, and the Standings must find a way to survive the dark matter hurricane and stitch their frayed family back together. Or face complete annihilation at the hands of a maniacal madman who will do anything - and destroy anyone - in his quest to dominate.

This thrilling post-apocalyptic box set includes all four novels in the Supernova EMP series:

Dark End
Deep End
Bitter End
Final End

Prepper survivalist author Grace Hamilton invites you to step into a post-apocalyptic, EMP-ravaged world filled with strong, resourceful characters, survivalist knowledge, and edge-of-your seat action.

A Complete Story for 1 Credit

Anytime you can get a complete story for one credit you know that you will get a good deal. This is the complete four volume series and I really enjoyed the listen. I am not a fan of zombies and this story did not have any. What it did have were people that were affected by the Supernova. This mostly affected their emotions and was a bit random in who was affected. Some were much more affected than others. One interesting thing about this EMP was that it was not an EMP. But for those of you that love EMP stories, don’t worry, the Supernova affected all electronics just like an EMP only there was no protection because of how strong it was. We learned much more about the affects by the end of the story.
Narration was well done with several different voices that made the story easier to follow.

frustratingly unrealistic

how many times does an individual need to get harmed, or those he cares about killed or harmed before he finally starts taking threats seriously. you don't negotiate with people trying to kill you. it is so insanely unrealistic when so many of these books in a without rule of law situation have the characters over and over and over again let people trying to kill them go to do it again. in a WORL situation, you come to my gate threatening to harm me or my family and or to take our property, we will give you a 3x6x6 piece of property somewhere in the back 40. you're not going back to your people to report driver discussion, you are simply disappearing from the face of the Earth.

Fantastic Series!

Grace Hamilton is a unique storyteller with a vivid imagination. The manner in which she developed her characters and revealed the evolving plot made me feel the emotions of the characters and kept me on the edge of my seat. This fast-paced, action-packed story with its engaging characters, danger, suspense, betrayal, unexpected twists and realistic character interactions and dialogue made this a captivating post-apocalyptic survivalist series. This is the first time I have had the pleasure of listening to narrator Matt Weight. His performance was spot-on.

Good story

It’s an interesting plot. The characters are decently fleshed out. The narration drove me nuts. There were several words that the narrator mispronounced over and over. I didn’t count how many or make a list, but we are talking in the ballpark of 10 different words that the narrator consistently mispronounced. It’s not even the difference between British vs US pronunciation. Just plain wrong.

I want to punch the most selfish woman I have ever heard!!

Great story. Just wish Josh would have told his wife to get to stepping and leave him alone. Other than that it was a great story.

Overall the story was good. The narrator was not unfortunately. Characters were interesting and memorable.

Unbelievable scenarios

Main characters are not very likable, especially the woman and son. Out of millions who survive so do individuals with before event who have ill intent for Main characters who miraculously get into powerful positions to reek havoc and whose main goal is to seek and destroy the weak MCs. Skipped through most of this. Not worth the credit.

A less nasally narrator would be better.

The story is Good, not Great. The narrator may be a great guy in real life, but I feel the nasally sound from his voice is very distracting and takes away from the story. The next issue I have is the incorrect nomenclature use regarding firearms. For example, when describing a 5.56 caliber weapon would sound better if it were called "five five six" instead of "five point five six". Another issue I have with the reading of this book is the pronunciation of words is just off. When the narrator reads the text and says words there is a pause between words that makes it sound as if English is a second language picked up later in life or the way a 1980's computer (Speak-N-Spell) would pronounce the words. For example, the ship know as the SeaHawk was pronounced Sea (pause) Hawk. The name SeaHawk should flow as one word, not two separate words. The author could benefit from spending time with military vets, members of law enforcement, firearm instructors, or just enthusiasts to help with the description of weapons. The way it was written it's almost for readers that have ZERO firearms knowledge. The written could say explain what weapon he is describing one for new readers, then use the common description. For example, a "Colt AR-15 or M4A1 caliber 5.56 x 45 mm NATO" could be described as a Colt AR or a Colt M4. Another example, a Kalashnikov AK-47 7.62 x 39 mm, could explained once and then described as an AK or AK-47. Likely everyone listening to this book is acutely aware of the caliber of each of these weapons including common bullet weights, effective ranges, and the damage potential of each.
I drive long distances and listen to audio books to occupy my time. This book series killed around 44 hours of my time. Other than the annoyances mentions, it wasn't bad. It is highly unlikely that I will purchase another book read by this particular narrator. Again, this narrator might be a great person, but perhaps his voice could better utilized in cartoons or children's books.

Good story it narrator could have been better.

I enjoyed the story but had a difficult time pushing through because the narrator was not very good. From the lack of emotion in his reading to mispronounced words it made a good story drag on when it shouldn’t have. As for the story every time I thought it was nearing an end another surprise pops up and I liked that.
It is worth a listen but just be prepared for the poor narration.
