Publisher's summary

From the USA Today best-selling Sweet Home series, comes Sweet Fall; a tale of heartache, beating the odds, and finding strength in the most unlikeliest of places.

We all have secrets.

Secrets well buried.

Until we find the one soul who makes the burden of such secrets just that little bit easier to bear.

Lexington "Lexi" Hart is a senior at the University of Alabama. Surrounded by her best friends, her loving family, and having fulfilled her life-long dream of making the Crimson Tide cheer squad, everything is going exactly as she always dreamed it would. But beneath her happy exterior, demons lurk, threatening to jeopardize everything Lexi has worked to achieve.

When events in her life become too much to cope with, Lexi finds herself spiraling down into the realm of her biggest fear. Lexi falls hard, victim once again to the only thing that can destroy her and, on the way, finds herself falling straight into the dangerous tattooed arms of a guy from the wrong side of the tracks.

Austin Carillo, starting Wide Receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide, must get picked in this year's NFL draft. He needs it. His brothers need it. Most importantly, his mother desperately needs it. Brought up in a world where the poor are forgotten, the sick are left to fend for themselves, and no hero miraculously appears to pull you out of hell, Austin had no other choice but to make a living on the wrong side of the law - until football offered Austin the break to get his life back on track.

But when a family tragedy drags him back into the clutches of the gang he believed he had left far behind, Austin finds himself falling. Falling back into criminal ways and falling deep into a suffocating darkness. Until a troubled yet kindred spirit stumbles across his path, where Austin quickly finds he is falling for a young woman - a young woman who might just have the power to save him from his worst enemy: himself.

Can two troubled souls find a lasting peace together? Or will they finally succumb to the demons threatening to destroy them?

Very moving story!

I have to admire the author in her preface, admitting that the topic of anorexia is one she herself deals with triumphing over. This audiobook was moving in that the topics of anorexia and gang involvement were the things the main characters dealt with, along with having a parent dying of ALS. The obstacles this couple have to surmount seems overwhelming and the story was very emotional. The narration was good, but I wish that Austin had his own voice.

One of my most favorite books

I have always loved the story of Austin & Lexi, the narrator has managed to awesomely bring the book to life. As many times I have read the ebook, I still cried and felt the characters throughout the book. The subjects for the characters in this book are so deep and true, Ms Cole has touched me deeply. ♡

❤️😢❤️

This was difficult to get through 😔 the struggles the h and H go through are all too real. I love the bond they build and how they become a pillar of support for eachother, tissues may be needed.
For everyone who is struggling or has struggled with an eating disorder, I hope you realize that you are good enough as you are.

Most Unlikely Couple, Most Poignant Story

Austin and Lexi had a difficult beginning and awkwardly built a friendship that turned into the most unlikely couple. Their story is so heart wrenching and complicated you just can't see how they are going to come out on the other side. If you liked Molly and Rome's story, you will love Austin and Lexi's story just that much more. I love that even though they are each fighting their own personal demons, that each one is able to help the other overcome life's hardships. There are times in this story that are just heartbreaking. Tillie Cole found a thoughtful way to explain/explore a very difficult subject -- I though I knew about this condition but living it through Lexi gave me a whole new perspective.

Stephanie Bentley gave a very compelling narration. She told this story with so much feeling and emotions. This is my first narration by Stephanie and hope it won't be my last.

Most definitely worth the credit. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series.

heartbreaking and beautiful

This story was hard to hear at times . With Lexi's and Austin's story. They endured a world of heartache together. But throughout it all their souls were meant to be. To heal and love one another without reservations . A heartbreaking and beautiful love story all in one. This narrator brought this story to life so beautifully.
